I thumped my fist on the table. “Then we’ll just have to make it happen.”

Rafael hummed to himself. “It sounds like I’m going to have to check out my new empire’s European holdings so I can find plenty of excuses to be over on that side of the ocean by then.”

I nudged him under the table. “You’re the boss. You can make up excuses.”

He laughed. “Good point. Now, come on, everyone. Dig into those sandwiches, or I’m going to think you don’t like my cooking.”

Quentin immediately stuffed the end of the sandwich into his mouth, carby bread and all. “You are never allowed to stop cooking for us,” he insisted after he swallowed. “You can have all my cheat days.”

Jasper shot the other guy an amused glance. “What does that mean—you won’t eat any carbs at all the rest of the week?”

“Hey, I make it work.”

“It’s fine,” Niko said serenely. “Anything he doesn’t eat, I definitely will.”

I leaned back in my chair amid the companionable warmth of their banter and couldn’t hold back the smile that stretched across my lips.

This was a real home. This was exactly where I wanted to be. As hard as it still was to believe, everything in my life had clicked into place.

After all my clawing toward freedom to escape Mom and her influence, I’d been able to stop fighting and pursue the life I’d wanted. I could fill my days with different kinds of power—the kinds that came from agility and beauty rather than brutality.

I was in charge of my own destiny now. And with the four men I loved by my side, I knew I was finally on the right path, heading toward a future full of joy.
