It was great, I wrote in my little notebook and showed Jordie.

With his arm around my shoulders, Hudson kissed my temple again and my body reacted with the enthusiasm of a cheer squad after their team made a touchdown. And the crowd went wild…!

Myhormones sure were in a frenzy anyway. And I wanted a real kiss. the way things were going, I wasn’t sure I could keep control of myself, though. My breathing stuttered when I looked up at him. His hazel eyes were dark and hungry—just like the wolf in the song currently on the speakers.

“It was great. Sparrow,” he murmured, oblivious to his cousin sitting there. “Tell me no. Right fucking now.”

My tongue flicked over my lips and I held his gaze.

“Fuck,” he swore and I watched his restraint snap. His hand came up, fisting in the back of my hair, and his lips crashed over mine, ravenous and demanding and…oh God,perfect.

Nine

Sparrow

The cacophony of the party-like atmosphere at the bowling alley faded

away the moment Hudson’s mouth was on mine. Finally. Finally! I didn’t even care that we were feet away from his family. My arms went around his neck and he pulled me onto his lap, pressing us chest-to-chest while he devoured my lips.

My brain turned to a mire of mush, sucking me into a place where only we existed, only the two of use in each others arms. Arousal seeped through me like a slow roll of lava creeping toward the ocean and destroying everything in it’s path. It erased everything before him, any memory of the disappointing boys before him.

Hudson was…unmatched. Unique. Mine. If I was his, then definitely, I he was mine. And obviously, he had no problem staking that claim. Very publicly.

His fingers in my hair pulled back my head and he attacked my neck with a line of kisses.

Someone cleared their throat as I moaned.

“Much as I might enjoy the show, if itwasn’t my little brother, are we going to bowl?” Coen growled near us. “In fucking public, Hudson,” he added in a mutter.

Hudson pulled away from my lips with a sigh that wafted over my kiss dampened skin. His forehead tipped into mine while we both breathed, for a moment, regathering out senses.

“You moaned out loud,” Hudson observed.

I did? I straightened, my fingers covering my tingling lips. He’d kissed me and I vocalized?

“You want something to eat…or drink? The bar has Ferrazzi Brews on tap.”

Does your family own this place?

With as many businesses as they had, it seemed feasible.

“No. We just have a contract with them—thanks to Gaines. He goes around to the local bars in West Michigan and sells them on us.” His fingers played along my back while he kept me pressed to him. “We didn’t eat. You must me starving.”

I nodded. I was a little hungry. The coffee I’d had earlier wasn’t keeping the rumbles at bay.

Grabbing my notebook from the table, I wrote him a message.I like whatever food. Surprise me. But just a Coke. I’m not sure I should drink around your family. I think I’ll need all my wits around me.

He threw back his head and laughed, the sound deep and rich and adding to the lava still burning through me and melting my panties. His lips brushed over mine, then he stood before settling me back in the chair.

“They have decent chicken strips and tots. I’ll be right back. Don’t let any of these jerks try to steal you away.”

Not a chance.

“Good.”

I watched him walk away, my heart fluttering like crazy at the idea of him being…my boyfriend. He’d called me his girlfriend, but weirdly, this felt like…more.

“Wow, he’s really gone for you.”
