After their sensual lovemaking, Logan had shown him all the filled-out paperwork for their date to get married in the local courthouse, as well as the set of rings he had gotten them so they would match. He had made sure he got the size right, and he had arranged for them to get married much earlier, than the ceremony at their home was planned.
Sammy was deeply moved. He loved how Logan had fully immersed himself into planning for their special day, but he still wondered. “Why so early, baby?”
“I can't wait for you to be all mine.”
“I’m already yours.” Sammy grinned and kissed him softly, further tangling their bodies in a firm but gentle embrace.
“I just want it to be the two of us. I want to be selfish and share the first days we’re married only with you.”
And here was Sammy, days away from the big day, still struggling to find the right words to express just how much Logan meant to him. He hoped the right sentiment would come, even if there were no words big or beautiful enough to tell the story of how his heart had been utterly captivated and saved by Logan.
THE CEREMONY
They held hands, and although all the people they loved and cared for were there to share the special day with them, Sammy only had eyes for Logan. The sunset was slowly creeping in, the air warm and filled with the scent of freshly cut grass and flowers. Soft instrumental music played in the background. The reassuring smiles of David and Blake as they led the ceremony, their beautiful words of affirmation for the special moment that was taking place, filled Sammy’s heart with pride and happiness. At last, the time came for them to exchange their vows.
“Logan, you've given me so much love, patience and affection, that I would gladly spend the rest of my life giving you all of me in return. Dreaming of a future where I would share with someone everything, I share with you today my love, seemed impossible before I met you. I swear to you, I will love you always and forever. I'll be by your side for the good times and most certainly for the bad times. I will cheer you on and I will support you in everything you set your mind to. I will follow you gladly on any adventure your heart desires, and I will never ever tire of telling you how much I love you, Logan. Every day I spend with you, makes me a better, stronger person. All I want to do for the rest of our lives is to adore you and love you with every part of me.”
There were sniffles, and a fewawws,but what made his heart melt was Logan grinning through tears of joy and just holding his hands tighter and tugging him ever so closer, looking lost in the moment just like Sammy was.
They could hear Morpheus panting and wagging his tail in excitement, and they both chuckled through happy tears. Good thing Lucas had a firm hold on him and was shushing him patiently. Logan gave his brother a curt nod, and he released the loving bullmastiff, allowing him to join them at the pier. Of course, he was a nuisance, and everyone laughed at the impromptu pause, but it was perfect – after all, Morpheus was the one that had brought them together. He had well and truly earned the spotlight, even if today was Logan and Sammy’s special day.
Logan did manage to get him to sit by his side. Morpheus looked fidgety, like he was vibrating with excitement his humans were getting married. When Logan began saying his own vows, his words penetrated Sammy’s heart deeply.
“You saved me. Once, twice, and every day since the day I've met you. Your smile is my lifeline when things get too difficult. Your words of encouragement ring in my ears when I doubt myself. Your touch of comfort stays with me even if you’re far away. Your kindness and warmth, your resilience and strength never cease to amaze me, and I find myself striving to be good, better for you. You never tire of giving me your undivided attention making me feel cherished, loved, seen, and understood. I promise you, from the bottom of my heart, until the last breath of life leaves my body, I will never stop loving you. I will never cease to give you all of me, today and every day forward. Whatever the future holds for us, I’m ready, my love. Ready to embrace it with you.”
Sammy cupped his face and Logan circled his arms around his waist. They kissed, lost in their happiness, barely registering the applause and cheers of their family and friends.
