Words are of no use to them.

Rian knows Ty’s heart. Ty looks at him, his own eyes pleading, begging for forgiveness, as fear and a sense of uncertainty have a tight grip on him. He loves Rian, now more than ever.

He’s willing to do anything to keep them tucked away in this pocket of safety.

Rian’s lashes flutter as he leans in, kissing Ty with his entire self, his body angling and folding over Ty’s. Skin on skin, becoming one with every stroke of Rian’s tongue. The welcoming heat of his mouth provides the soothing relief Ty needs to continue breathing and existing on this earth.

Words are meaningless, as the touch of his lover is everything. Rian is the moon and the sun. The new dawn that warms Ty’s soul.

They caress each other gently, kissing passionately, finding solace in each other in the comfort of their dark bedroom.

Rian’s touch softens and his breathing evens as he tucks his face in the crook of Ty’s shoulder drifting away. This peaceful moment, this dream come true, is everything Ty has ever wanted.

He takes their twined fingers, bringing them to his lips, and as he reverently kisses Rian’s knuckles one by one, Ty vows to be the man Rian deserves by his side. Someone he would be proud of. Someone who would never fail him again.

The silence is comfortingand unbearable at the same time. So many years of it, so many things they must say to each other, yet the words are hard to come by after this profound moment of intimacy they have shared.

Rian is snuggled in his arms and is drawing gentle patterns over his chest, kissing his skin every now and then. His long legs are tangled with Ty’s, and even though Ty knows they need to talk, he can’t help but selfishly hold back and enjoy the quiet comfort they share.

“Where were you?” Rian murmurs, not looking up.

Ty leans to kiss the messy, soft locks of his hair and braces himself.

In the end, he fights the fatigue and tells Rian everything.

He talks about Sebastian. About Harris Kelly. About his lawyers. About Sullivan. About Cyril. About his own family.

It is a lot, and it takes most of the night to answer Rian’s questions.

Understandably, Rian is distraught. “I should have looked for you. I should have tried harder!” He sobs, exhausted in Tayida’s arms.

Ty has never, ever blamed Rian. He gently rocks him, tightening his hold on Ri, soothing him through his distressed sobs. “Shh, Rian, it’s okay. You didn’t know. I knew you would have looked for me. And you did. You didn’t give up. You didn’t forget about me.”

Ri mumbles in between sobs, “I’m such an idiot! If only I had held on to you! If only I had told you how I felt that last Christmas…”

“And what about my stupidity? I’ve been in love with you from the first moment I laid eyes on you. We were both just kids, Ri. Messed up, fucked up, lonely. I don’t think either of us knew how to deal with emotions this big. All the reasons I used, to hold back, to keep my feelings to myself seem ridiculous now.” Ty leans in for a tender kiss, “Never again,” he murmurs in between sweet soft brushes of their lips. “We belong together, Rian.”

Ri kisses him back, but he is still very upset, his whole body trembling. He is very emotional, especially after reading Cyril’s letter. Ri had given Ty the brief run down, but Ty has asked him for permission to read it in the morning. But first, Ty wants to reassure Rian that he had done enough to look for him through the years.

“As for trying to find me, you couldn’t have possibly known what that bastard was capable of. Nobody did. Kelly had shoved me into that shithole with so much cover-up paperwork, no one knew I was there. This is how Sullivan was able to offer me a deal.”

“What will happen if they find us? I can’t…I don’t ever want to lose you again.”

“You won’t.”

Rian shakes his head and tries to pull away, but Ty tugs him gently back and tips his chin up. “You’re not alone. We can figure this out. It’s a long shot, but Sullivan’s plan could work. If he fails, we run. We run for as long as it takes…”

Tayida swallows hard remembering how betrayed he felt by his friend or whatever Sullivan is to him now.

Rian bites his lower lip, then hesitantly bobs his head in agreement. Ty kisses away his tears and tucks him closer to his chest.

“I’m here now. I’ll die fighting for us. For you and Bran.”

Rian may not believe him right now. Hell, even Ty has doubts, but for the first time in forever, he would have to fucking believe that they could win this. That they could come on the other side and be happy. Whatever it takes. Ty is ready.
