It doesn’t even matter what Rian might ask of him. Right then and there, Ty knows it – the answer will always beyes.

Why is this boy affecting him so much that his imagination refuses to be contained even by the fact their circumstances are less than ideal?

The timing is terrible.

They’re just fucking kids.

Yet Ty is infatuated with Rian.

His galloping heart goes still, and his breath leaves him, every time those big blue eyes land on him. His own skin barely contains him. The apartment feels way too small and cluttered. Rian is way too close and not nearly close enough at the same time.

Ty wants to reach for him so fucking bad. He’s never been this drawn to anyone before. It fucking hurts to hold back. This sudden jarring urgency is driving him insane. His anxious heart goes back to its frantic beat, as he stands there utterly confused by the way Rian makes him feel.

It’s a done deal. Ty’s heart doesn’t belong to him anymore.

Rian. Rian. Rian.

Ri.

Would I ever get to call him that?

The three of them sleep in the tiny room the brothers are renting. Ty takes the ratty old couch. Rian and Cyril spend the night on a tattered ancient mattress on the floor.

Cy is the only one snoring softly, as Rian spends the entire night looking at him, sobbing quietly. Cyril is his friend, and they care for each other, but looking at Rian makes Ty want things he doesn’t believe are in the cards for him. His life has been so fucked up thus far that he hasn’t allowed himself to think about any of the things he may crave deep down inside. Thoughts of intimacy and desire for physical affection are smothered beneath the weight of his lonely existence and financial problems.

Siren.Enchanting. Mesmerizing.

The words are now carved in his brain right next to the vivid image of Rian’s face.

If only Ty could touch him, feel his no doubt silky skin beneath his fingertips, just once. He simply must know this vision is real, that Rian is not a fantasy. That he hasn’t lost his mind completely.

He won’t.

He can’t.

But it’s so damn tempting to slip from the couch and quietly crawl on the floor then take a knee by his side and run his fingers through Rian’s beautiful locks soothing him through his pain, quieting his sobs with his touch alone.

He won’t.

He can’t.

Rian is beautiful and quiet. He is delicate and gentle. He is a dream and a vision. Ty wishes he has more words to describe him as the night goes by in his quiet observation of Rian and Cyril.

In the morning, all he can do is watch on as Cyril and Rian cling to each other for a long while, saying their goodbyes.

Tayida can’t even remember what he mumbles to Ri as he wipes his tears and tells Ty to take care of his brother.

“Bring him home, Ty. Bring him back to me. Stay safe. Look after each other.”

His quiet, heartbreaking request becomes an order. A covenant Ty makes with himself – to never leave Cyril’s side. He will lay his life on the line, however many times it takes. He will risk everything to ensure Rian and Cyril are always reunited.

If he can’t be their brother, if Rian can’t be in his life asmore, at the very least, he would do everything in his power to protect their little family.

Whatever sacrifices must be made, Ty is ready.

Rian will always get his Cyril back.
