He whispered my name and I shifted my eyes up to look into his. My heart raced as he moved his head forward a fraction, then stopped and searched my gaze, giving me one last chance to retreat. When I didn’t, he tunneled his fingers through my hair and touched his mouth to mine.

The kiss wasn’t much more than a soft brushing of lips, but it made my heart pound double-time. I let out a shuddering sigh as Simon slid his hand to cup the back of my head then moaned against his mouth as he pressed it fully against mine.

Wanting to get closer, I wrapped my arms around his neck. He moved his hand to the small of my back and pulled me even closer as his mouth opened, deepening the kiss, and adding a soft suction that made my lady parts tingle. That feeling intensified when he touched his tongue to mine, taking the kiss to a whole other level.

It went on and on and I got lost in the sensation, forgetting the fact that I’m standing on my front porch making out with Simon Parker. Part of my brain kept insisting this should be weird, but it doesn’t feel weird. It feels very right.

I felt like I was floating, then realized Simon was actually walking me back toward the house. Soon I found myself sandwiched between cold brick and warm man, his hand still cradling my head, protecting it from the hard surface.

He pulled his mouth from mine for a split second and tilted his head to the other side to go at the kiss from a different angle. Different, but just as good. I dug my fingers into his scalp as our tongues tangled together, the kiss going on and on, building in intensity.

I have no idea how long we were at it, but in my mind, it wasn’t long enough.

Releasing the back of my head, Simon’s hand skimmed against my neck, across my shoulder, and stopped at the side of my breast. My heart pounded even harder in anticipation, but instead of cupping me like I thought…hoped…he would, he slid it lower to rest against my waist and slowly ended the kiss.

“I uh–” He cleared his throat. “I should let you get inside before Granny Vi comes out looking for you.”

It took a second for my befuddled brain to make sense of his words, but then I nodded.

“Thanks again for a great night.”

“I’ll see you Saturday,” he said before slowly backing away.

“See you Saturday.”

He opened the door and I stepped inside, turning to watch as he walked down the steps and made his way to his car. He opened the driver’s side door and with a wave, sat behind the wheel and started the engine. I waited until he backed out of the driveway and pulled down the street before closing the door behind me. Resting my back against it, I placed my fingers on my tingling lips.

“How was your date?” Granny Vi asked from her recliner.

She’s not going to let me sneak off to my room without giving some details. As I walked toward the couch, I tried to figure out what to tell her, but there were only four words running through my head.

Simon Parker.Holy hell.

Simon

I circledthe block twice then found an empty spot and backed in. As I stepped out of the car, I looked up at the apartment building and remembered I don’t live here anymore. I shook my head then slipped back behind the wheel. Thankfully I didn’t head inside. That would have been embarrassing.

I’d just pulled back onto the road when my phone rang. I accepted the call and my sister’s voice filled the car.

“It must have been a hell of a date if you forgot where you live.”

“What are you talking about?”

“I just watched you drive to your old apartment building.”

“What?” I looked around at the empty road. “You’retrackingme?”

“Don’t sound so surprised. You know we share our locations with each other and mom and dad.”

“Yeah, but I never stalk you.”

I swear I heard her eyes roll through the phone.

“I was just curious about how your date went and checked to see if you were home so I could call and ask.” She chuckled. “And again, I’m guessing it went well since you forgot where you live.”

The date was amazing, and that kiss was insane. Better than I ever imagined, and trust me when I say, I’ve imagined. But I’m not sharing those details with my sister.

“We’re going out again Saturday night, so it must have gone well.”
