Simon and I joined in to dance the Time Warp. That’s something none of my past boyfriends would have ever done. Then again, none of them would come to see the movie.

We were quiet on the ride back to Granny Vi’s. Our joined hands rested on the console and Simon’s thumb stroked the back of mine in a slow, steady rhythm.

For years I just thought of Simon as a friend, but that’s definitely not the case anymore, which still blows my mind when I focus on it. Yes, we’ve only had two dates, but I can definitely see this developing into something more. He’s so thoughtful and sweet, and I feel good when I’m with him.

As for physical attraction, we definitely have chemistry. Instead of a hot burst like I’ve felt with guys before, it’s more of a warm, comfortable burn. That might be a bad explanation, but all I know is that I’d like to explore it at some point.

The question iswhen?

Simon

I pulled into the driveway, put the car into park, and killed the engine. Letting go of Keera’s hand, I shifted and rested my forearm against the back of her seat.

“I could hear your mind spinning all the way here. What’s up?”

“Tonight was really fun,” she said. “Thank you.”

“It was and you’re welcome. But you’re not getting off that easy.” I raised my right brow. “What were you thinking about?”

She blinked at me then shook her head.

“It was nothing. Just silly thoughts.” I looked at her, letting the silence grow until she felt the need to speak. “This is our second date and when I really think about it, it’s just–” She flipped her hand back and forth a couple times before completing the thought. “–it’s still strange.”

“Why?”

“Because you’reSimon,” she said with a nervous chuckle. “In all the years we’ve known each other, I never thought about us dating.”

“Oh.” I thought about that for a second, then asked. “And now?”

The corner of her mouth kicked up into an adorable smile.

“I can’t keep the thought out of my mind.”

“That’s good.”

I tucked her hair behind her ear, cupped her cheek, and leaned in. There was no hesitancy like the other night. She met me halfway, and as soon as our mouths touched, the heat our kiss generated nearly melted me in my seat. Our tongues teased and tangled, and I groaned when she threaded her fingers through my hair and held on.

Only one word ran through my mind.More.

Wrapping my arms around her waist, I pulled her across the console until her upper body pressed against mine. Her full breasts flattened against my chest and I tightened my hold, pulling her closer still. Our hearts pounded in a matching rhythm as the kiss went on and on.

She released my hair and wrapped her arms around my neck, pulling me closer as our mouths continued to feast. Still holding her tight, I leaned back in my seat, practically pulling her onto my lap. I moved my hands over her lush body, savoring every single dip and curve. Not able to resist any longer, I moved my hand up to cup her breast, but before I reached the promised land, heard a loud honk and jumped back, banging my head off the window.

I let out an awkward chuckle and rested my forehead against hers.

“Sorry about that. I bumped the horn with my elbow.”

Keera slid back into her seat and I immediately missed her warmth.

“Is your head okay?” she asked.

“Yeah. It’ll be fine.”

“I should probably get inside anyway.” She gestured toward the house. “We don’t want Granny Vi putting on a light show again.”

“We definitely don’t want that.”

After giving her a quick kiss, I stepped out of the car, then jogged around to the passenger side and opened her door. She placed her hand in mine and stood. We walked hand in hand across the sidewalk and up the steps to the front porch.
