Finnegan’s has been crowded since Afternoon Delight started playing, but now, toward the end of their first set, it’s totally packed. We got here super early to grab some tables close to the stage and have been here since. I don’t plan on leaving this seat unless I have to go to the bathroom.

The final strains of “American Girl” finished and once the applause died down, Gus, the lead singer, announced they were taking a short break.

My dad joined us and I introduced him to Simon’s parents.

“We used to follow you back in the day,” John said. “I was so excited when Keera mentioned this.”

“It’s nice to meet you and I’m glad you could make it.”

“I didn’t realize you guys still play. Then again, I’ve traveled so much through the years, I lost touch.”

“It’s not a regular thing anymore, just a few times a year.”

My phone buzzed.

This place is insane.Where are you?

“Anjannette is here,”I said to Simon.

I looked around, but didn’t see her.

We’re allthe way up front.

We found some pole people.I’ll drag them along.

I sawLeo’s head over the people standing near the bar and waved to catch his attention. He headed in our direction and soon I saw Anjannette behind him, followed by Sophie, Eve, Phoebe, Rosa, and Mason.

“I’m so happy you made it.”

Anjannette gave me a quick hug.

“I really didn’t want to miss this,” she said, then looked over her shoulder at Leo. “Let’s go say hi to Keera’s dad. We’ll be right back.”

As they left, I looked at the rest of the gang.

“Thanks so much for coming.”

I’d mentioned it at the studio, but honestly didn’t think anyone would come.

We’re not all going to fit at the table, but I think there’s enough space around us for people to stand. We’ll make it work somehow.

Some of the crowd had headed outside during the break, but had started slowly shuffling back in. I spotted Andrew and Archer walking in with them and waved.

“Sorry we’re late,” Archer said, then looked over at Andrew. “Hewas late.”

“Excuse me if I had an emergency surgery.”

“I know, you’re saving lives.” Archer rolled his eyes.

“You could have come without me.”

Archer crossed his arms over his chest and shook his head.

“You’re actually just in time for the second set,” I said.

The band had taken the stage again and my dad started playing theJeopardytheme as they waited for the house music to be turned off.

Anjannette and Leo joined us again.
