I look into his eyes, waiting for him to shake his head, to change his mind or laugh at me but he does none of that. Instead, his eyes bore into mine hungrily, waiting.

I look ahead and find that my eyes are the same height as his chest.

I spare one more glance at him to be sure he’s not going to backtrack before placing numerous light kisses along the delicately soft skin on his chest, reaching my tiptoes as I ascend to patter kisses along his shoulders and neck before finally reaching his lips again.

All the while he stands there unmoving, staring at me in what I can only describe as awe and as he does, I feel more elated than I ever imagined possible.

Our lips touch. It’s not soft or gentle, but rough and demanding. His hands nestle themselves within the waves of my hair as he pulls my head closer to his, destroying and maiming my lips with his own. His tongue darts out, eagerly swirling against mine as he uses his other hand to hold my body flush against his.

I can feel the heat of his body, his skin, the fire of the kiss we’re sharing. It doesn’t last long enough though. Within what feels like only a few moments, it’s over and he’s staring down at me once again. Only this time, I find myself unable to look away from his gaze.

The Club is packed, same as yesterday. Same as every day. Crow and I are sitting in a booth towards the back with very few people within hearing distance.

The drive here took all of two minutes, meaning that no awkward silence really had a chance to happen. He’s hardly said a word since the kiss aside from telling me that we needed to go to the club. He needed to be here for Dad’s meeting and so did I.

I am supposed to be meeting the Laidens’ President's son here this afternoon. I have already been dreading it, but adding the kiss between Crow and I into the complicated mess that is my life now intensifies the anxiety I feel about meeting a possible fiancé.

My dad has explained that there was a Cobras Only meeting first to discuss current affairs.

I would wait here, in the cafe as always when a meeting occurs; the only difference with today is that I have already planned to hopefully get close enough to listen in on the meeting. If no one will tell me what is going on then I will find out for myself.

Crow had rang ahead and ordered food. Alice had carried it over, been tipped well, and has left us alone again. Even though I know Alice has a thing for Crow and I hate the very thought of it, I am no less than petrified to be left alone with him for the fear of having some awkward ‘that shouldn’t have happened’ conversation which changes everything.

“Pass me the ketchup will you, Char.” Crow interrupts my thoughts with the most mundane demand.

I hand him the ketchup and then go back to eating my chips.

“Why are you staring at me like that?” he asks.

“I wasn’t staring at you!” I insist as I look away, realising that in order to look away, I must have indeed been staring at him without even realising it.

“Look at me,” he demands.

“I really wish you’d stop telling me to look at you,” I tell him as I dubiously look his way.

“And I really wish you’d get out of your head and look at me instead of overthinking,” he tells me with a laugh. I can’t help but smile at him; he’s right and he knows it. He knows me well enough to know how my mind works.

He shifts closer to me in the booth so that we’re only inches away from one another.

“I don’t know what’s going on with us right now but I don’t want it to stop, but I also don’t want you thinking things have to be weird because you can’t keep your hands off me,” he tells me with a wink.

“Oh, shut up and eat your stupid burger.” I shove him and watch as he laughs before digging into his food again with a smile.

“What times the meeting?” I ask, watching the room as most of the high ranking Cobras begin filing out into the hall. Crow seems to notice this just as I do. He checks the time on his phone before wiping his lips with the napkin at his side.

“Now apparently,” he grunts out. "Right, you stay here. Do not go anywhere unless it’s inside this club, alright?” I nod at him, which is apparently enough to appease him.

“I won’t be long, alright?” He gets up, grabs his phone, and heads out towards the hallway, chatting to a few of the men as he does.

I purposefully wait twenty minutes before leaving the booth, knowing that there are always stragglers that are late to the meeting.

There are still men around everywhere though. It’s not hard to figure out that my dad has most likely upped the guards around the club or more specifically around wherever I am. Which is fine. I’m not leaving the Club.

I walk up to the bar and find Alice on her phone.

“Hey, Alice, can you do me a favour?” I ask quietly.
