I turn my attention back to the self-made ring in the centre of the room and watch as Crow, Liam, Tin, and Matt gear Charlie up. She looks surprisingly level headed considering the jibes and curses coming her way from Theo across the ring. He's doing his very best to antagonise her, I can see it in his eyes. He's wearing an evil smirk that I've seen many times before. He's a big man. Maybe six feet two with a lot of muscle. A beer belly stands up front but if nothing else, the muscle on his arm and his weight alone could easily flatten Charlie. She's small, petite, and not made for this. I hope like hell they've trained her well enough. I doubt any of us want to see her pummelled. Although, I doubt it would ever get that far. I can't imagine Liam or Crow would allow a single punch to be thrown her way before they intercede. But then again, hopefully with what I've given Theo, any punch he throws shouldn't be too deadly or dangerous. He should be on his knees with just one punch once it kicks in.

The fight begins with Theo and Charlie inside the ring, circling one another. Theo is throwing a string of words her way that I frustratingly can't hear while Charlie looks completely unphased and remains silent as she eyes up her opponent.

Good, very good.

The tension building in the room is magnified by the silence that ensues. The room is eerily still as everyone waits for the first punch or kick to be thrown. There are bets made by everyone - on who will hit the other first, who will go down first, who will get back up, how long it will last, and if others will end up intervening. I didn't take part, but that doesn't mean that I’m not aware of them.

My phone vibrates in my pocket but I ignore it, knowing that it will be one of my few very annoying friends wondering where I am. I had insisted that I wouldn't be coming tonight. Not only did I not want to see Charlie get inevitably hurt, but I also didn't want to cause a drama that wasn't needed, but I realised too late that I needed to be here for those exact reasons. I don't want to see her get hurt, but I can't stand to be away and hear about it without seeing it. I don't want to cause a drama and yet I am the first one to cause one by drugging Theo.

It isn't that I care about Charlie in the way I perhaps thought I did originally, but I do still care. A lot. She is one of the only people in my life that allows me to so freely be myself and I think I clung to that with everything I had when I first met her. She surprised me - astounded me even.

Theo throws his arms out with a fist towards Charlie that she narrowly avoids. The moment he throws the first punch, the noise in the room resumes. There's shouting, booing, screaming, and screeches coming from every direction. There are people cheering and throwing their hands up. Others are clapping while some are stood as stock still as I am while watching the fight unfold.

For too long, Theo throws punches and kicks that Charlie avoids as she practically and tactically chases him around the ring. It looks as though she's trying to exhaust him before she starts using her body against him, which is good. That's exactly what she should be doing.

What I don't anticipate is Theo catching Charlie, and yet he does. He manages to grab her ponytail, holds her still for just a millisecond as he throws a punch with all of his might straight into her face.

He lets her go and I watch with horror as she falls, crashing down, her head hitting the floor too quickly, and that's when absolute carnage ensues.

Crow’s and Liam’s eyes are filled with death wishes as they scramble to get inside, but what they don't see that I have the absolute glee of noticing is Charlie as she opens her eyes and looks up at Theo with a lethal danger and predatory fury unlike anything I've ever seen before. Theo isn'tlooking at her. His arms are in the air, rejoicing with what he assumes is his win.

The people surrounding the ring are too occupied to notice, but I do. I notice the smirk that lands on Charlie's face as a presence seems to consume her entirely. It’s like watching a woman possessed as she lets her leg go out and trips Theo up. The shock on his face is beyond pleasurable to see as her men pause their attempts to get to her. Once they realise that she may indeed have the upper hand; a better chance than they originally assumed.

Theo falls heavily to the ground beside her, his eyes filled with confusion, but in less than a second, she's on top of him, throwing one punch after the other at his face, in motions so quick I can hardly keep track of her arms moving. She looks heaven made, God like, lethal as she descends her fists upon him. She looks like the most incredible monster I've ever seen, her eyes lighting up with the pain she's inflicting. Blood spurts out from Theo’s face and covers her, but she doesn't stop. Doesn't hesitate. Doesn't slow. She pummels her fists into him until he's stopped moving completely, and then the smirk that covered her face returns as she slowly gets off him.

Crow and Liam, as well as everyone else around us, are deathly silent as they watch on. She stands above him, spits on his face, and walks around the ring, looking into the very soul of every person her eyes encounter.

"Now you fucking bow to me," she says, her voice travelling, loud and clear. I watch in awe as the people around us take her order very literally and begin getting down on their knees, smiles and roars once again filling the room as they cheer her on. Awe fills me as I replicate the actions of those around me and bow with a laugh nearly bursting out of me at the ludicrousness of the situation, watching as her eyes catch mine. Her lips twitch into a half smile as she nods my way, before Liam and her dad walk into the ring, holding one of her arms up each and announce her as the new President of The Dark Cobras.

The damn queen.

I glance once more at her brother that I know will haunt my thoughts before leaving the queen and her attentive bees to their business.

Twenty-Three

Charlie

The last time I was alone looking for Crow in this Clubhouse, I felt weak, afraid, and had a nightmare in store that I could never have anticipated but this time, as I look around for Crow, I have people nodding their heads, acknowledging me, I'm the President of the Dark Cobras.

"They're in Crow's room waiting for you," Gray whispers in my ear, his presence unexpected by my side as I look over at him.

"Why are they in there?" I ask.

Crow hasn't stayed in his room here at the club once since I've been home, and neither has Liam. Other than to pick up clothes or any other essentials, they've hardly left my side; I can't imagine why they'd be in there now.

"They've asked me to keep everyone away, to keep Dad distracted especially, so I'm going to guess that I don't want to know why they're in there waiting for you." He laughs lightly as he pushes me towards the hallway door.

The last time I walked down this hallway, I was out of my senses and alone. This time, I feel more powerful and majestic than I ever have in my life. I feel confident and like I could take on the world, and yet the niggling in the back of my mind won't leave me.

It doesn't take long to get to Crow’s door. I stand, unsure of myself and what's waiting for me as my hand reaches for the handle. Anticipation runs through me as I open the door and find the absolute last thing I expected to see.

My heart soars, my body reacting immediately as I feel my core warm and my body shiver at the prospect of what's to come.

Liam and Crow on their knees, in only their boxers, their heads down. Waiting for me.

Their tattooed torsos and muscle-ridden biceps and chests while they kneel before me are inexplicably hot.

"Whatever you want, baby. We're all yours," Liam says as he looks up towards me, his eyes connecting with mine, his face filled with earnest caring and adoration as he waits for me to make my move.
