My stomach growls loudly, answering his question, and he laughs when my cheeks turn crimson.

“Guess that is a yes. Let’s feed you before you waste away on me,” he jokes, leading me out of his room and to the kitchen.

Several hours later, the others finally wake and find us snuggled together on the couch watching a movie. River stumbles in groggily, throwing himself down in front of me on the couch. I can feel that his skin is no longer hot to the touch and his perfume is back down to manageable levels. I rub his back as he snuggles deeper into me, shoving his face between my boobs and passing back out. Kian is napping behind me, and I was close to dozing off before they all came in.

They each check on me, making sure I’m okay and feeling fine, and I assure them I feel great. Better than great, even.

Reassured, everyone finds a seat and we spend the rest of the day being lazy and enjoying each other’s company.

Yeah, I spend the day with my pack.

All mine.

Thirty-Two

I place kisses all along Ripley’s face as I try to coax her awake. It’s way earlier than I know she’ll want to be up, still dark out, but I figured now would be the perfect time to take her on a hike through one of my favorite trails on the property and then we could watch the sunrise together. That is, if I can get her up.

“Starlight, wake up,” I whisper against her ear before kissing down her neck.

She groans, rolling over on her side and giving me her back, making me chuckle. I increase my efforts, tickling the skin down her side, and she shivers. I grin when she rolls back over and cracks her eyes open enough to glare at me.

“It looks like it’s still dark out, tootsie pop. What do you think you’re doing?” she huffs.

I snort at the pet name. “I was thinking it’s time for a day with just us, so I wanted to know if you’d like to hike one of my favorite trails and watch the sunrise with me?”

This gets her attention, and she sits up quickly, blinking. Her hair is a rat’s nest, full of tangles from how hard she was sleeping, but she couldn’t look more beautiful to me. I love when she’s just herself. A little unhinged, totally ridiculous, and full of love for us all.

“Just us two, you say?” she asks, her eyes gleaming, and a brow raised.

I chuckle. “That’s what I said,” I say.

“Give me ten minutes. I suggest you have me a giant travel mug of spiced cider or coffee ready when I get down there.” She warns, pecking me on the cheek before jumping up from the bed and running from my room.

Exactly eighteen minutes later, she comes sneaking into the kitchen, where I’m waiting for her. I smirk when she stops and pouts.

“Aw. I thought I was going to get a chance to scare you,” she says, making me snort.

I hold the mug full of cinnamon spiced cider out and she snatches it from me before I can even blink. She inhales deeply and makes a lewd sound, crossing her eyes.

“Yummmm,” she groans obscenely.

“You are ridiculous,” I laugh.

“You love it, sugar tits.” She winks when I groan, cackling softly so she doesn’t wake the others.

“Let’s go before we miss the sunrise, you loon.”

I grab our coats from the closet near the back door since it’s been getting colder out, especially when the sun is down. We’re quiet as we sneak outside, and I lead through the back of the property. Ripley sips on her cider as she walks beside me, looking up at the stars with a soft smile.

At the trees, I find the opening I’m looking for and grab her hand to lead her in. It’s darker under the cover of the trees, so I pull the flashlight I brought out of my back pocket to help light the way. It’s quiet apart from leaves rustling with the slight breeze or little critters running through the brush.

This trail is one of my favorites, not because of the trail, but because of the view at the end. The trail itself isn’t anything too hard to follow or navigate. It just leads to a gorgeous spot overlooking the lake. It’s the perfect place to watch the sunrise with my omega.

“Ya know, if I didn’t know you like I do, I’d be suspicious that you’re leading me through these dark woods to kill me and hide my body,” Ripley says when we’re halfway to where we’re heading, and I glance over at her.

“Who said that wasn’t my plan all along?” I look at her with wide eyes, and she laughs, shoving me with her shoulder.
