Nico presses his nose into my hair and takes a sniff.

“Are you using a new shampoo?”

“Nope. Same stuff as usual.”

He’s quiet, but I can practically feel the wheels turning in his head. Suspicion rattles down our bond, along with confusion. He knows the scent is on me; he just doesn’t know why. Or who it belongs to. He hasn’t quite caught on that it’s interspersed with my own, not just on my skin.

I hold my breath with anticipation, hoping he guesses. I’ve been dying holding on to this secret. It’s been a few weeks since I confirmed my suspicions and at first, I’d hoped someone would figure it out quickly, but now I’ve come to realize that I might need to actually have a plan to tell them. This is the first time one of them has noticed the scent change, surprisingly. None of them have commented on my boobs, and we all know that should have been the first clue River figured out, and yet he hasn’t. I’m tempted to just blurt it out at this point.

“Kitten, whose scent is mixed in with yours?” Nico growls, running his nose down my neck and along my shoulder.

“No one you know. Yet,” I reply, and even I can hear the laughter in my voice.

He nips my shoulder playfully, causing me to squeal as I squirm to get away, putting my back to him. His arms squeeze me tighter to him, not letting me go, and I can’t help but laugh as his nose tickles the crook of my neck. I reach back and smack his arm lightly.

“Stop that, you fiend,” I laugh.

“Something you wanna tell me, Kitten?” He asks gruffly.

“Mmm... could you be more specific?”

He grunts, running his hands across my stomach, and my breath hitches at the soft way he touches me. Like I’m made of glass.

“The others may not have noticed these...” He trails off as his hands cup my breasts, massaging them lightly.

“Or the sudden aversion you have to nearly every food we make, even though I know how much you love my cooking.”

I tuck my lips behind my teeth, waiting.

“But that scent is really confirming my suspicions. Like you said, it’s subtle...”

I turn in his hold suddenly and look up at him through my lashes. Those light green eyes of his that I love so much are hooded and burn into me, a fire blazing in those depths. This man. This alpha is everything to me. They all are. Nico’s love for me is the most obvious out of them all because he wears his heart on his sleeve. It’s written all over his face every time he looks at me. And man, do I love the way he looks at me. Like he would tear cities apart for me, burning everything to ash just to watch me rise up from it all. It’s addicting.

I pull his hand around from my back and place it on my still-flat stomach and look at him with teary eyes and a soft smile.

“How about we take this family of six and turn it into a family of seven?” I ask him with a whisper.

His eyes shine, and the smile he gives me makes me giddy. He kisses me, soft and slow, cradling my head in his hand. When he pulls back, he has a mischievous grin plastered on his face, and I raise a brow at him. He turns the burner off completely and then throws the towel that was over his shoulder onto the counter. I screech when he bends and wraps his arms around my legs, throwing me over his shoulder, and lets out an excited whoop.

Nico rushes into the family room with me smacking his butt and hollering at him to put me down. My hair is hanging in front of me, and the way I’m being jostled might make me vomit all over his delectable ass if he doesn’t stop with all the movement soon.

“Hope you assholes are ready to be dads... and a mom. Our omega just informed me she’s got a bun in her oven!” He tells everyone excitedly before turning and running up the stairs.

They all gasp, and when we’re halfway up the stairs, I hear the clatter of them throwing down whatever was in their hands before their footsteps follow as they race after us. I grin against Nico’s back, peeking out through my hair as I watch them all shove each other out of the way to try to get to me first.

“Be careful with her!” Syn hollers worriedly as she kicks Knight in the shin to get ahead of him.

“Hey, that’s precious cargo you’re throwing around up there, Nic! Be careful with my omega and my baby!” River shouts, jumping over Kian and Syn.

“Godsdammit, Syn! That fucking hurt,” Knight groans, limping behind the others.

“Do you need anything, Starlight? Crackers? Ginger ale? Oh, Gods. We have so much to do!” Kian rushes out, shoving his way through Syn and River, putting him in the lead.

Yeah, life is grand, and things are only going to get better from here.
