I will need to go home eventually, but maybe I can stay just one more night. It’s not like I actually want to leave that badly. I’ll compromise with him because I see how much he loves me being here and how much it means to him. It helps that the others gave me a little perspective.

“You stubborn, beautiful man,” I sigh, not looking away from his eyes.

“I’m sorry I’m so needy,” he frowns, tears shining in his eyes.

“You’re not needy, baby. You’re an omega. I love that you want me here with you. You just have to remember that I don’t live here. I have to go home eventually, you know,” I smile softly at him. “I’m sorry for getting so frustrated with you and storming away instead of talking to you. That was unfair of me.”

“I’ll take you home if you really want me to,” he says sullenly. “I just love you being here, but I know I’m being greedy with your time. I don’t mean to be.”

“I know.” I rub my nose against him, and he closes his eyes, sighing. “I’ll stay. One more night, okay? But I really do need to go home tomorrow.”

He bites his lip. “Okay.” I can tell he wants to argue for more time, despite him asking for only one more night earlier, but he doesn’t. Progress.

“Okay. Now, come here and kiss me like you mean it.”

I pull his lips against mine, and he whimpers as I lick his lips before licking my tongue across his. I throw my leg over him, pushing my core against the outline of his dick. He presses closer, thrusting up and grinding against me, making me shudder in pleasure. I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of this, of him. Before we can get much further, my stomach rumbles loudly, putting a stop to anything else we may have had in mind, like the true taco blocker it is. River pulls back, chuckling, and I grin at him.

“Feed me,” I demand.

“Anything you want, Little Bird. I’d give you the world if you asked me for it.”

“Well, right now, I’m just asking for lunch, like a sandwich or something, but we’ll discuss you acquiring the world for me later. Just put a pin in it.”

He laughs, rolling me onto my back and pushing me into the soft foam below us, pecking my lips before kissing all over my face. “Yes, ma’am.” He purrs out before getting up, an obvious tent in his basketball shorts that makes me snort in amusement.

I go to get up with him, and he mock glares at me. “Lay your pretty ass right back down and relax. I’ll bring lunch up to you.”

“Ooh. Bossy omega,” I purr back at him, propping myself up on my elbows.

“Damn right I am,” he sniffs as he turns away.

I fall back as he leaves and smile softly up at the ceiling. Crazy omega. And he’s all mine. Well, not all mine, but you get my point. I feel incredibly lucky to have run into Syn and Kian all those weeks ago. Fate or Destiny, or whatever you want to call it, brought them into my life to bring me here, to this moment. I waited three years, thinking I had nobody out there that would be for me. Turns out, I just needed the right omega to step all over my expectations and burn them down.

A knock on the doorframe pulls my attention, and I glance towards the entrance. Syn stands at the open door, not stepping in.

“Can I come in?” She asks.

She looks unsure, which is so unlike her. I can’t imagine why she’s asking me for permission to enter. It’s her omegas nest. Instead of questioning her, I just nod, furrowing my brows. She steps in, and I sit up, waiting for her to get to me. This is the first time she’s sought me out on her own. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t incredibly curious. And maybe a little bit hopeful.

“You two must have worked it out. River came down and recruited Nico into helping him make your lunch,” she says, smiling as she gets to my side and sits down beside me.

“Yeah. I... gave into him, just for tonight. I don’t like him being sad. But I told him I have to go home tomorrow.” I pick at a loose thread on one of the blankets nearby.

“Ah. Well, that’ll do it. Seems he can work his charms on an omega just as well as an alpha or beta.” We both chuckle.

River is very charming, even when he’s being a total brat. He’s also kind and full of heart. I love that about him.

“So,” Syn clears her throat. “About the other night...”

Oh, are we ready to talk about that now? I raise a brow. “Yes?”

“Did... did you regret it? The kiss?” Her brow is furrowed as she looks down at her lap.

My brows raise in surprise as I look at her. “What? No! Of course not. Why would I regret it, Syn?”

“I don’t know. Silly question, I suppose. Apparently, old insecurities die hard.”

She tries to laugh it off, but I can still hear the worry and pain there. Something is bugging her. I grab her hand, bring it up to my face, and rub it against my cheek. She looks up at me in surprise, her lips parted as a small gasp leaves her.
