“Why the heck would I wanna have a sleepover at your house? I don’t know you, mister! I know all about the stranger danger and not taking candies from them, so don’t even think about trying that on me!” she sasses, crossing her arms.

My eyes widen, and I feel my cheeks heat slightly. Smart cookie. Poor Ripley is trying her hardest not to laugh in earnest, but it’s a losing battle. Saxon is glaring at me, her little eyes narrowed into tiny slits and her cheeks puffed up. She’s a cute little tyke, but if I’m also being honest, she’s a little fucking scary for a child. I clear my throat, feeling incredibly awkward as I kneel in front of her.

“Alright. Let’s be real for a minute. What’s it gonna take for you to hand your auntie over for the night, Dove?” I decide to just hit her with it straight. My bribing skills are apparently lacking with children. Who knew?

Her face scrunches as she pretends to think hard about it, even going as far as to tap her little finger on her chin with her lips pursed. I can’t help feeling like I’m about to be hustled by a little girl in a sparkly dress that barely passes my kneecaps. It’ll be worth it, though.

Finally, she answers, and I barely contain the boisterous laugh that wants to escape me. Ripley has given up on holding her laughter in at all, in the middle of uncontrollably giggling at her niece and her antics. I suspect she’s used to this.

“Twenty bucks, mister big dude.”

Saxon says it with so much confidence, not a drop of hesitation in her tone. I’m both impressed and concerned. The kid is going places for sure. Whether that’s to prison or a nice Ivy League college is undecided, but I guess we’ll have to wait to find out.

I can’t believe I’m about to buy a night with my girl from a munchkin. What a fucking trip!

However, I don’t even hesitate to pull my wallet out and slap a twenty in her greedy little hand. I’d give her a hundred if it meant a night alone with my omega. Saxon gives me a big grin, already missing two bottom teeth, and curtsies.

“She’s all yours, mister big dude.” She leans in to whisper in my ear before scampering away, “PS, I liked the nickname you gave me!”

A streak of glitter flies past me and I look back in time to see her round the building before she’s out of sight. When I look back at Ripley, she’s laughing and shaking her head at me.

“I can’t believe I just paid a five-year-old for a night with my girlfriend,” I grumble as I stand, dusting the dirt from my knees.

Ripley snorts and comes over, wrapping herself around me. She tips her head back to look up at me, her eyes twinkling with mirth.

“You could have helped,” I mutter, staring at her lips, desperate for a taste.

“Now, where would the fun in that be?” she laughs.

I growl at her playfully, nipping her neck. Her laughter stops when my teeth take hold of the delicate flesh there. She gasps, tilting her head farther to the side, submitting to me. I don’t bite hard, not enough to break the skin, but when I let go, I still lick the spot to soothe it. A breathy moan puffs out from between her lips, and I inhale the delicious scent of her perfume that plumes out. My teeth ache from how close I was to biting into her, wanting it badly. We haven’t discussed bonding, however, so I won’t just bite her without her wanting it. No matter how badly I want to.

“You are such a brat,” I say against her throat.

“You like it,” she whispers back.

She’s not wrong. Case in point, I’m crazy for both of the bratty omegas in my life. Wrapping my arms around her, holding her flush against my chest again, I nuzzle her. My cheek rubs against hers as I scent mark her, desperately wanting her to smell like me before we leave. A cheery hum vibrates up her chest, and I feel her smile against me.

“How about a date, Kitten? Just me and you.” I whisper to her.

“I’m liking where this is going...” she trails off as she steps away. “One, where are we going? And two, how are you planning to get me out of here without the others noticing?” Her brow raises as she holds up two fingers.

“Well, two is easy. I drove myself,” I smirk. “As for your first question, I’m not telling. You’ll find out when we get there.”

“Come on! I’m a terrible sport when it comes to surprises,” she whines, big pleading eyes looking up at me.

I shrug, grinning at her. She’ll find out, like River did, that when I decide on a rare date night, it’s going to be a surprise because I try to plan things that matter. That will mean something to us both. She can beg, but it certainly won’t do her any good. Other than make me think about her begging for my knot as I pin her down.

Down boy, I tell myself.

I am about to start strategizing a stealthy escape when we’re interrupted by River searching for Ripley. We both freeze and look at each other with wide eyes.

“Little Bird, are you out here?” He singsongs.

Ripley’s fingers touch her lips as she quietly chuckles but doesn’t give our location away to him. Fallen limbs and sticks crack as he gets closer to the building we’re behind. Deftly, I move us as slowly and quietly to the other side when I hear him get closer to the back. A huff can be heard when he makes his way around and doesn’t see us, and I peek around the corner to see his brow furrowed. His eyes narrow before he lets out a growl of frustration, likely realizing I’m also missing by now.

“Nico.” He spits, and I have to tuck my lips behind my teeth to keep from laughing.

River doesn’t even bother coming to this side to check, spinning on his heel and stomping back the way he came. I hear him call both of our names and shake my head. I love him, but fuck, is he going to be pissy over me stealing Ripley tonight. He’s whined and moaned so much over the last week about how much he’s missed her. I missed her too, and I’m faster. I give Ripley a feral grin and her eyes gleam as she grins back.
