Well, I mean . . . not in the way I usually prefer. I’m definitely getting dicked down as much as possible. Without a gym, these guys have too much energy to burn, and I’m more than happy to be that outlet for them, but I just wish they’d throw me up against the wall and fuck me into a coma.

I’m done with missionary. I’m not a missionary kind of girl, and I mean, sure, sometimes the good old one-on-one dance is exactly what I need, but when I have four horny guys who are all holding back, it’s hard to be satisfied when I know just how wild and wicked it can get.

With nothing to do but screw and binge-watch The Vampire Diaries with Cara, I’ve been quickly going out of my mind, and soon enough, I’m going to break. After scanning over my healing injuries and deciding another day of this bullshit will physically kill me, I tighten my towel around my body and step out of the bathroom, more than ready to declare we get out of here, when Easton strides in through the front door with a burner phone in his hand.

“It’s go time,” he says, the guys whipping their heads toward him as I just stare, suddenly not feeling so brave about going anywhere. I mean, sure, I’m happy to move onto the next safe house, possibly one that has a pool and some nightlife so Cara and I can sneak out and enjoy a few drinks. Not that we’ll actually get very far. Hell, we won’t even make it to the bedroom window before being sprung, but it’ll still be better than living here. As for heading back to Faders Bay for round two? No thanks. Hard pass.

“What do you mean?” Zade questions, getting up, ready to spring right into action. “What’s happening.”

“That was Benny,” he says, Zade’s right-hand man at the DeVil hotel and loyal member of Empire, though fortunately for us, Benny still believes that Zade is the only rightful leader and therefore, that loyalty belongs to us. “Matthias is making his move today.”

“But it’s the mass funeral today,” Cara says.

“Exactly,” Easton says, striding across the room and grabbing a heavy black bag and dumping it on the table, guns spilling out of it. “What better time to make his claim to leadership? The funeral is going to be the biggest turnout Empire has ever seen. If he wants to make a move and declare himself, then that’s how he’s going to do it.”

“Shit,” I mutter, watching the boys scurry around the room. “How’s this going to work?”

“We go in and take him out,” Zade says bluntly.

“The hell you are,” Cara splutters, finding a backbone. “It’s a mass funeral, and you’re not about to go in there guns blazing and disrespect the families of our dead. Children will be there, Zade. If Matthias is going to make a stand during the funeral, then we’ll deal with it and put the fires out, but I am not about to let you cause more bloodshed on today of all days. Besides, if you go in there and start shooting the place up, you’ll be public enemy number one.”

“I’m already public enemy number one,” Zade throws back at her. “It doesn’t get much worse than that.”

“You’re Zade DeVil,” Cara mutters. “You have a gift for making matters worse.”

“Would the both of you just knock it off?” Sawyer says, making his way toward the table and scanning over the selection of weapons. “What are our options?”

Dalton shakes his head, deep in thought. “We’re outcasts. We don’t have any.”

“You might be outcasts,” Cara says. “But I’m not. I’m the highest-ranking official Empire has. We’ve got to be able to use that in some way. They don’t know that I had anything to do with what happened in the tomb.”

“No offense,” I say with a cringe, “but the fact that you were the only Circle member able to walk out of the tomb alive speaks volumes. They know you were with us. It might not have been voluntary and you might have been in the dark like I was, but they know whose side you’re on.”

“Honestly,” Easton says with a shrug. “I say we just wing it. There’s going to be hundreds if not thousands of people showing up to this. We play our part, keep our heads down and blend in with the crowd. No one even has to know we’re there. Then, when the right time presents itself, we make our move.”

“And what move is that exactly?” I ask, not liking where this is going.

“Who knows?” he says, a devilish grin pulling at his lips. “That’s all part of the fun.”

Ahh shit.

With the boys all in agreement, we quickly find ourselves back in Zade’s SUV and flying back toward Faders Bay before making a pitstop at the mall to find appropriate funeral attire. Apparently, an oversized t-shirt that reads Why is it always WYD and never DYWMTCOAEYPTYCOMF? isn’t going to hack it.
