“You’ve got to block him.” Another buzz comes through. My eyebrows practically climb off my head in alarm. “These are threats.”

“It’s nothing. He’s just upset.”

Darling, we need to talk about this.

We go back and forth for a bit. Kaye defends her professor while I try to get her to see what’s right in front of her nose. Each time I tell her to call things off, she digs in, defending him.

“I just need to figure out how to handle this.” The way Kaye refuses to meet my eye tells me things are worse than I know.

She’s been holding out on me. I thought we talked about ditching him.

“You’re still hung up on him, aren’t you?” I feel for my friend, but her professor is a douchebag. “He’s a lying, cheating asshole.”

“I don’t want to burn bridges I might need later. It’s not just the scholarship. He can…” Defeat slumps her shoulders.

I hate how lost she seems.

I’m far too aware of what Professor Scott Parker can do. He helped Kaye get into the vet school at UC Davis and he can just as easily ensure she never has a chance to go. The man holds too much power over my friend.

Buzz.

Kaye grits her teeth, probably expecting another angry text, but it’s our bestie Carmen.

“They’re ten minutes out.” Kaye’s mood turns a complete 180-degrees, excited for Carmen and Rosalie to finally arrive.

“Crap, they’re early.” I glance at my watch.

“So?” Kaye shrugs.

I slug her playfully on the shoulder. “We haven’t moved your things out of your room.” I hop up from the couch and clap my hands. “Come on, your things won’t pack themselves.”

Kaye and I rush around her room upstairs like two lunatics, throwing clothes in suitcases and cardboard boxes. We drag those from her room upstairs to my room downstairs. We make a total mess of things and are nowhere near done when Carmen’s text comes in that they’re almost here.

We sprint down the stairs and fly out the front door to wait at the curb.

“Do you see them?” Kaye lifts on tiptoe, peering down the street.

“Do you think it’s just the two of them? Or do you think they brought some Guardian muscle to help?” I haven’t had sex since grad night, and I’m horny as shit. Sex and orgasms are on my brain. If I could just get that guy from the club out of my head…

I’ve never been this sexually frustrated in my life. I need dick, and I need it now. I feel like that should be the title of a song.

“Get your mind out of the gutter.” Kaye knows me all too well, and she knows exactly what’s going through my head.

“Tell me you’re not eager to lay eyes on one of those Guardians?” I jab Kaye in the ribs. She can be quite the hypocrite sometimes. “Sexy Navy SEALs? Hot as sin Hostage Rescue Specialists? Gorgeous Guardians?”

Forget my mystery man at the club; however many weeks ago that was. I want to bang a Guardian. Or rather, get banged by a Guardian. The harder the better.

Like an animalistic rut.

Dirty, filthy, and raw.

Damn, I need a good fuck followed by a mind-blowing orgasm.

That’ll get my mind off whoever the hell that was at the club.

The man with the magic dick and talented fingers. Fuuuuck. That was some crazy hot sex.

“Dang, girl, you need to get laid.” Kaye shoves me playfully. “I see the thoughts in your head. You’re hung up on your mystery man.”
