Leah runs her fingers up Theo’s arm, flashing him a smile with a wink. He pulls back from her and focuses on erasing his answers on his whiteboard. My heart leaps when he pays her no attention, and it takes all of my restraint not to straddle him and kiss him all over.

“Fourth question,” Tess moves on. “How many kids do Caleb and Sarah say they want to have?”

There is no hesitation when Theo and Leah jot down their guesses. They both guess four and that is the right answer. Going into the last question, Team Bride and Team Groom are tied 4-4. I really want Team Bride to win so I don’t have to do the hula at the wedding. But at the same time, I don’t want to see Leah win, as petty as that is. And, if Theo wins, we will be spending some time alone in our room.

Hell. I am so conflicted. The competitive side of me is ready to attack the romantic side of my brain and I don’t know how this is going to end.

“Last question. Hopefully, this tie-breaker does not end in a tie.” Tess rolls her eyes and flips to the last card. “This one is a two-parter and is the toughest question. What would Caleb say is Sarah’s best physical feature and what would Sarah say is Caleb’s best physical feature?”

My eyes dart over to Leah, and she looks slightly panicked. She slowly writes on her board. Theo on the other hand looks just as calm as when the game began. He jots down his answer quickly and puts the cap back on his marker. Theo glances up at me and winks.

Hellfire. I am going to be doing a damn hula tomorrow.

Giving them enough time to answer the question, Tess waits until their markers are covered before asking them to turn their boards around.

Leah’s board says,Caleb likes Sarah’s eyes and Sarah likes Caleb’s smile.

Theo’s board says,Caleb likes Sarah’s boobs and Sarah likes Caleb’s forearms.

“And the correct answers are Caleb likes Sarah’s boobs and Sarah likes Caleb’s forearms.” Tess wipes her hands down her face. “Team Groom wins.”

Applause, shouts, moans, high-fives, and kisses make their rounds through the table. Theo glides back to me, hands in his pockets, wicked grin plastered on his face.

I purse my lips when he gathers me in his arms and tilts his head to the side. “How did you know both of those?” I ask him, one of my eyebrows arches.

“Go drinking with them one time and that’s all they can talk about.” Theo laughs and kisses the tip of my nose. “I can’t wait to see you dance that hula.”

“I bet you can’t.” I snort before a smirk stretches across my cheeks.

“And you know that means I won our bet.” He wiggles his eyebrows and my knees buckle.

I roll my eyes, his arms tightening around me. “I suppose you’re right.”

Theo leans closer, touching my ear with his lips, and whispers, “You head back to the room,” he slips the keycard into my hand, “I’ll swipe a bottle of champagne and meet you up there.”

I shiver and suck in a breath.Steady, heart, steady. When he pulls away from me, I nod my head, and when everyone is distracted with celebrating Team Groom winning the Wedding Games, I slip away and quickly, but not too quickly, trot up the steps to the hotel.

I try to keep a calm demeanor as I pass through the hotel lobby, not wanting to draw attention to myself. I especially don’t want the look ofHey, I’m about to make out with the hottest guy on the islandplastered on my face.

The elevator is taking its sweet time taking me upstairs. I look at my reflection in the mirrored walls of the lift and make sure my hair looks perfect. The ding alerts me to the doors sliding open and I step over to our suite and swipe my keycard.

I turn on a couple of lamps, my version of mood lighting. I slide the giant glass door open to let the warm ocean breeze whip through the suite. I close my eyes and listen to the crashing of the waves, the distant sound of people laughing, and island music floating around from the city as well as the beach.

Before I have too much time to overthink Theo and I sipping on champagne and maybe, hopefully, picking up where we left off earlier today, I hear a light knock on the door.

He’s here.

I flip my hair back over my shoulders, push my boobs up in my bra so the V-neck of my dress showcases a hint of cleavage and walk over to the door.

This is it. I take a deep breath and open the door, flashing as seductive a smile as I can muster. But it’s not Theo. My smile is gone, and my heart is in my throat.

“What are you doing here?”

Chapter Seventeen

“I needed to see you,” Derek’s arms are clutching either side of the doorframe. His blonde hair looks a little disheveled, like he has been up wrestling his thoughts all night. “Can I come in?”

I would be a liar if I said I wasn’t interested, curious, desperate even, to find out why he’d come to my room. It’s as if thinking of him a couple of hours ago conjured him. I open my mouth to say, sure, but then realize Theo will be up any minute and I can’t have him see Derek and I alone.
