“Oh my God.” I bury my face in my hands. Then it dawns on me what he’s talking about. My head snaps up. “Are you saying they’ve heard me before?”

Luca doesn’t answer me, but his silence speaks loudly.

“Great!” I throw my hands up. “I can never face the guys ever again.” I go to walk away and find a corner to hide in.

“Baby.” Luca hooks his arm around my waist and hauls me against his chest.

“I’m so embarrassed.”

Luca chuckles against my ear. “You’re cute when you get riled up.”

I cross my arms over my chest.

“And you make my dick hard when you pout.” He kisses my neck. “I look forward to hearing you scream my name tonight when I show you how much I dig the hair.”

I bite my bottom lip. I knew he liked it.

He kisses me again. “Let’s go before we’re late. Prez will have my ass if I’m late. And if you keep standin’ here being all cute, I will fuck you.”

It’s nearing three o’clock in the morning, and Luca’s birthday party is winding down. Salem and Sage disappeared thirty minutes ago—one guess as to what they are doing. Juniper is passed out in the chair across the room, where two women are dancing and making out with each other while Juneau and Laredo watch. Mystic sits at the bar with his tongue down some redhead’s throat. Baja has also skipped out, and I haven’t seen my mom in a while.

I never thought I’d witness how easily Mom has fallen into the club scene. The first time Mystic’s mom invited her to a party, I was nervous. I’m still not used to the things I see at the clubhouse. Mainly the women. I thought I’d have to fight for Luca’s attention, being around so many beautiful women. But my man only has eyes for me. He made that fact known when he asked me to move in with him earlier tonight.

I’ve asked Luca for weeks what he wanted for his birthday, and he kept putting off his answer. Then tonight, he finally told me. His only birthday wish was for me to move into his house. I happily told him yes. I then proceeded to bawl like a baby.

“Ready to go, baby?” Luca asks.

I wind my arms around his neck. “So ready.”

Luca gives me a knowing grin. “You too drunk to hold on to me?”

I shake my head. “I’m never too drunk to hold on to you, Luca.” I go up on my tiptoes and kiss him. “I’m going to find Mom and make sure she’s good. Then we can go.”

Luca follows me as we pass the bar and down the hallway. My first thought is to check the bathroom, but she’s not there.

“Her truck is still outside, so I know she didn’t go home,” I say.

Turning, I walk into something solid—Luca’s back. “Whoops,” I giggle. “Why’d you stop?”

The words die in my mouth when I notice how tense Luca has gotten. I touch his arm.

“What’s—” I pause and follow his line of sight. At the end of the hall, sneaking out of Baja’s room, with rumpled clothes and messy hair, is my mother.
