“What?”

I knew exactly why he was here. I could have ended his suffering and asked him if he wanted to fuck again, but he needed to learn how to use his words. Plus, it was amusing to watch him stutter. He was surprisingly adorable when he was flustered.

“I know we said…and it’s not a good idea…but I just…” He glared at me. “Are you really going to make me say it?”

“Yes.”

“Asshole.”

I leaned against the doorframe, waiting.

“One more time.” He dropped his gaze, his shoulders stooping in defeat. “Just one more time to see if it was a fluke.”

I pushed the door all the way open and stepped aside so he could come in.

“This is a mistake.” I closed the door behind him.

“Yeah, I know. But I had a shitty few days and…”

“You want to get out of your head for a while?”

He nodded, his eyes filled with that seeking, sad look that pushed all my buttons. And I mean, allof them. The ones that wanted to bend him over and fuck him into my mattress, and the ones that wanted to give him exactly what he needed.

This was a dangerous game we were playing. I couldn’t bring myself to care.

“Upstairs,” I said.

“Why?”

“Because that’s where my bed is.”

“No bed.”

“Yeah, you don’t get to make all the rules. I’ll respect your no-kissing boundary. And if you really don’t want face-to-face, then fine. But this is my house and you came to me. Now get your bratty ass upstairs and on my fucking bed.”

His eyes flared with defiance and heat. “And what if I don’t?”

“Then you can get the fuck out.”

He didn’t move.

“Well?”

“Fine.” He spun on his heel and stomped ahead of me.

I didn’t bother hiding my chuckle.

“You’re so annoying,” he shot over his shoulder.

“You like it.”

He mumbled something unintelligible.

When we were in my room, I crossed my arms and raked my gaze over his frame. “How are your injuries?”

“Healed.”

“Are you lying?”
