“Have you ever creeped on me while I was sleeping before?” she asked. “I know I have fallen asleep on a movie night. Did you watch me sleep before?”
“You weren’t my girlfriend before,” I replied easily.
She laughed. “Girlfriend? That’s a rather sudden development.”
“You’re saying you don’t want to be my girlfriend?” I asked.
“Definitely not,” she replied. “It just feels… sudden.”
“Sudden?” I scoffed. “This has been thirty years in the making.”
“I’m only thirty,” she replied.
“I’ve just been waiting for you to ripen,” I grinned.
She laughed. “I was ripe years ago.”
“And every other man on the planet knew it,” I said. “I had to wait for you to be ready for me. I had to make sure you could see me as the man you needed and wanted and not just your friend.”
Her hand slid down my arm. “I’m definitely seeing you as the man I need and I most definitely want.”
