Lorena reddened at her father’s compliment and gave him another long, tight hug.
Before he walked away, he said one last thing. “Call me tomorrow when you finally wake. We can have lunch.”
They agreed and thanked him for coming.
Now it was just Thomas and Lorena standing alone while the others had grabbed their food and tables.
“Well, should we join our pride?” Thomas asked, playfully pulling Lorena into his arms and kissing her once more.
She giggled and kissed him back. “I think we shall. Can’t get this party started without the guests of honor, right?”
Thomas grabbed her hand and led them over to get their own plates of food and drinks. “You better be up for one hell of a party because we lions know how to do it right, and there will be little rest for you for quite a while,” he remarked coyly.
She flashed him a wicked smile in response. “Oh, I’m counting on it.”
Thomas kissed her again before grabbing their drinks.
He watched Lorena dish them a plate to share. He couldn’t take his eyes off of his wife. His mate. What a day, indeed.
He knew there would be many more wonderful days in their future, but as of right now, he couldn’t be happier.
