I kiss the top of her head. Whispering to her, “Let’s get you home. I know something that will take your mind off everything else.”

Sloan looks up at me smiling that epic smile of hers, “I like the sound of that, Mr. King.”

You know that saying, ‘her smile can light up a room?’

Well, my girl’s smile can light up the universe.

Epilogue

Sloan

There is nothing better than waking up to fresh snow on the ground. Especially when you have no plans for the next few days. Nope, not one damn thing except being wrapped up in Wes’s arms.

The last month has been a complete whirlwind. From moving back to NY, overseeing the renovations at Masqued, and getting engaged, I'm officially exhausted and couldn't be more thankful for these few days away at the lake house. Wes informed me this weekend was originally supposed to be our engagement, but he couldn't wait a moment longer. Can’t say I blame him. I feel like I’ve been waiting for what feels like forever to officially be his. He wanted to propose up here because it's where we first connected and shared our first kiss. Well, when I initially attacked him, I should say.

It's so peaceful outside. Standing in front of the windows, sipping my coffee and watching the last of the flurries fall, I feel his warm arms wrap around my middle. “Mmm, good morning, fiancé,” he says while giving me a soft kiss on my neck.

“Good morning, handsome.” I answer, placing the empty coffee mug on the table next to me.

I don't know if I'll ever get used to him calling me that. Feels so surreal. I may just be the luckiest girl alive to have this man by my side for the rest of my life. We haven't set a date just yet, but neither one of us wants to wait too long, so hopefully this upcoming spring or summer.

“What would you like to do today?” I ask, leaning back against his firm body.

“I’m already doing it,” he says, hugging me just a bit tighter. I swear he would live inside me if he could. Not that I’m complaining. I don't know if I'll ever get my fill of him.

Spinning around in his hold. I wrap my hand around the back of his neck and kiss him softly.

“Hmm, how about we try out that new Christmas gift I got you?” he asks, running his hands along my body. He’s been dying to try the remote-controlled vibrator since I opened it last week. It’s one that he can control with an app.

“You're hopeless.” I tease.

“Hopelessly in love with you.” I yelp when his strong hands wrap around my ass and lift me. My legs encircle his waist and I kiss him again.

“How about we do something outside of the house for a little while… What if we go sledding…”

“Do we even have sleds here anymore?” he asks, raising an eyebrow. I shrug my shoulders in response because I honestly don't know. It’s been years since I’ve been to the lake house during the winter. When we were kids, we used to love being snowed in here. We would go ice skating on Lake Hudson when it was frozen enough, the boys would take out the quads and explore the surrounding woods, and we all at some point, would go sledding and tubing, parents included.

“I'm sure we can find something to use. Come on, let's get dressed,” he says, swatting my ass to get me moving.

It was slim pickings in the garage. We did manage to find a plastic sled and a garbage pail lid to use. You can tell there haven’t been little kids here in years. That thought brought a smile to my face. Imagining all of our little ones running wild like we used to. Wes and I can’t wait to have children together, but we want to live our lives for a bit. Make up for all those years we lost without a little one in the mix. Still can't believe Eli has one on the way. Clearly coming as a complete shock to us all and explains a lot of my best friend’s behavior over the last month. I’m not sure what her plan is, or his, for that matter. I think everyone is still letting it sink in that Eli is going to be a father.

We’ve been out here for well over two hours and my toes are officially frozen. But we’re having so much fun that we stay out for a while longer. Wes broke the garbage can lid within the first few trips down the hills. So, we have resorted to me sitting on his lap as we ride the plastic sled together.

Once we can no longer feel our fingers, we head back inside to warm up by the fireplace and with the soup that Wes had put on before we went out.

I must’ve dozed off on the couch because I’m startled awake by a tingling sensation. When my eyes open and I fully register what is going on, I see Wes sitting in a chair across from me with a devilish grin on his face.

“Did you think I wouldn’t find out?” he tsks, then slides his finger along his phone screen. The tingling intensifies, and I let out a soft moan.

“When you fell asleep, I went into our suitcase to go find your Christmas gift, and to my surprise, it was missing from the box.” I moan again, damn this feels good.

“Mmm, my beautiful Thea, how long were you planning on wearing it and not tell me?”

I smirk at him. Which causes the vibration to get stronger. “Oh Fuck,” I moan.

He must change the speed on his phone, because the steady thrumming has turned into an intermittent pulsing sensation. I moan louder, writhing on the couch under his heated stare.

I put my new toy in place after we changed out of our snow clothes. I knew he wouldn’t realize it for a while and was planning on dropping the hint at some point, but I fell asleep.
