“Let’s fucking goooo,” I say to my brother, Brayden, before tossing back our second tequila shot.

When he asked me to go to the pool bar with him, I figured he just wanted an excuse to drink. We’ve been coming to this same place for our “framily” annual trip to Mexico for years now, so even though he’s underage, we know they don’t ID. Plus, the dude looks more like my twin than my younger brother by two years. Our parents are normally caught up in their own fun, so as long as we are responsible and stick together, they don’t care. But now, after I see his eyes flit to the other side of the bar for the fifth time in three minutes, I know he really wanted me to come over for wing-woman purposes.

“She’s cute.”

“Who?”

The smirk on my face tells Brayden I see right through him.

“Hot pink bikini, great rack, killer smile.” The blush that creeps up my baby brother’s cheeks is adorable as he stares across the bar.

He shakes his head. “No, not cute… she’s beautiful.”

Awww.

I glance back her way and see her watching us.

“She has a great laugh, just like you… I think you, Lo, and Ava would have fun with her and her friends.”

Raising my eyebrow at him, I say, “Don’t try to bullshit me, little brother.” I roll my eyes at him. “You know I’ll do anything for you, but I really don’t think you need me on this one. She’s been checking you out, too. Plus, believe it or not, a lot of girls don’t like to play nice with me. Something about me causes them to put their guards up from the get-go.”

Truth is, I’m a girls’ girl, but I often fit in better with the boys because of my competitive nature.

I wave Sam, our new bartender friend, over toward us. “Why don’t you order her a drink and take it over to her? You got game, baby brother… you’re a Turner. Plus, homegirl wants you bad. She’s glancing over here, probably trying to determine if I’m your girlfriend or not.”

Brayden shakes his head, smirking at me. “Fuck, I didn’t think about that… I should have picked Eli for my wingman instead of you.” That thought sours my stomach. Those girls would want to eat Eli up.

“Another shot of tequila?” Sam asks us.

“Actually, Sam… what is the pretty little blonde over there drinking? Is that a margarita?”

He looks back toward the group of girls.

“Yep. You want to switch it up?”

“No, I’ll stick with the tequila shot, but can you make two margs for my brother, pretty please.”

He winks at me. “Anything for you, wild one.”

Ready to give my brother a pep talk, I turn in my seat to find him eye-fucking blondie.

“See, you need no help. Confidence, baby bro… when all else fails, never let them see that fall.” I pat him on the shoulder. “Just remember to wrap up your hot dog there, broski.”

“For fuck’s sake, Quinn. Don’t insult my dick like that…. it’s more like a foot-long, anyway.” I fake a gag, causing Brayden to laugh even harder as Sam sits two margaritas in front of him.

“You got this. Seal the deal and treat her right.” Brayden shakes his head at me as he strides toward his good time, with two margaritas in hand.

I realize Sam is still standing across from me with a shot in his hand. He nods his head toward the one in front of me. “Just testing out your brother’s plan for myself,” he says with a suggestive grin, reaching out to cheers with me before we both take the Patron down in one gulp.

The hairs on the back of my neck raise, and I know it’s not from the way Sam is watching me suck on my salted lime.

The bartender’s expression quickly changes from flirty tooh shitbefore suddenly making himself very busy.

I feel a solid bare chest touch my shoulder, as familiarwhispers trail across my neck, causing a burn to ignite inside me.

“I’ve watched you sunbathing with my sister, doing the water aerobics with the old folks, playing Simon-says during the kids’ activity, and now taking shots with the bartender.” He pauses, recalling my day by the pool, but I still don’t look at him.
