I’ve never had this much mind-blowing sex in my entire life. The way our bodies crave one another is something I will never tire of. She was made for me, and I will spend every day worshipping that perfect body of hers.

“Go get the girls, you sex machine. Dinner’s ready.”

Before leaving, I trap her body against the counter, caging her in with my arms. “Just so we’re clear… I'm going to fuck you hard tonight,” I say, sliding my hand around her body till my fingers cup her pussy. I swirl my fingers against her covered clit. “Make you come so hard you scream, and your sweet juices soak the bed.”

Releasing her, I walk away with a smug as fuck look on my face. Her breathless ‘fuck’ only makes me smile wider.

That’s right, baby…I want you desperate for me by the end of the night.

Twenty-Nine

“Okay, everything is set up except for the cakes. What time do you want us to have that out, Q?” Cindy asks as I finish off Addy’s tiny pigtails since she won’t keep the cowgirl hat on that we got her. Not that I’m surprised, because even on the beach, Sophie is the only one I can get to keep a hat on her head.

“Maybe in, like, twenty minutes… right about the time everyone starts to show up. Since they’re so dang cute, I want them on display.” A cowgirl boot and a horseshoe cake each to go along with the theme—Saddle up and join us for Addy & Sophie’s First Rodeo.

“Everything is perfect, Quinnie girl. Thank you for all of this. For everything, I can’t believe they’re one.” She pulls me into a hug.

“Mama… down,” Addy insists, wanting to run free.

“Oh, my heart… hearing them call you that will never get old.” Cindy’s hand covers her chest and tears fill her eyes.

We hug again, and rubbing her back, I say, “Okay, no more of this. I’m already an emotional wreck with them turning one.”

My mom walks in with Sophie on her hip. “Who the hel—heck’s idea was the mechanical bull?”

“Blame that on your son. Brayden called us to RSVP and said since it was a rodeo, he was expecting to ride a bull. So, of course, Eli got the thought in his head and that was all she wrote.”

My mom bumps her hip into Cindy’s. “Me and you need to get on there and show them how it's done.”

That sounds like a terrible idea that will result in my dad and John saying the most inappropriate things.

Cindy waves off my mom. “Pssh, yeah right, you know what it will turn into.” Turning to me, she glares. “A contest between Eli and Quinn. Who can stay on the longest, or who has the best form, just like old times.”

I laugh, because it’s totally true. Eli and I have already talked so much shit to each other about that very scenario.

“Jump… jump,” Sophie says, pointing outside.

My mom chuckles at her demand. “Okay, Mimi, come on, let’s take these girls back out to their bounce house.”

“Thank you both for everything. I’m going to go change my shirt, and I’ll be out in just a few.”

* * *

I lookat the shirt on my bed. The one Sloan had made for me to wear today. I want to put it on to show it off, but sometimes, I feel like a fake…an imposter.

“Slow down, Ava. What’s the problem?” I hear Lo ask as our bedroom door bursts open.

Ava throws her balled-up fists down against her thighs like she’s having a tantrum. In all our years of friendship, I’ve never seen her act this way. Snarky and sweet, yes… but never bratty.

“That man is so fucking infuriating… like, how is Eli even friends with his pompous ass?”

Ahhh, she’s talking about Parker. “For fuck’s sake, he’s only been here an hour. What did he do?”

“Eli asked us to do a simple task. One simple freaking task!” Her voice rises as she recalls the incident. “All he had to do was place the balloons where I asked him to so I could tie them… but nooo, he thinks he knows best.” She huffs, shaking her head. “So it's all his fault that there are only a couple balloons on the front gate… the rest of them were victims of our game of tug-o-war.”

Ava flops her lean dancer body down on my bed in defeat. “I swear every day I’m near that man is straight torture. Can you imagine what it's like for me to work for him?” She lets out a deep sigh, trying to compose herself. “I’m sorry, Q. For some reason, I let Parker get the best of me, and now the girls’ balloons are currently soaring in the clouds.”

I pull her back up off the bed and into a hug. “Oh, hush… it’s fine. If that’s the worst that happens today, I call that a win.”
