Missed him.

The idea is as much ludicrous as it’s true.

It’s been just a few hours since I left him sleeping in my bed this morning so I could get to class on time. Because, yes, he’s been sleeping in my bed every night for the past week. Ever since our first night together. I shouldn’t miss him already. But it’s like a well sprung open inside of me, and I couldn’t get enough of him.

Everything else falls into the background as he kisses me. His mouth is playing over mine in a slow, almost lazy rhythm. Like he wants to prolong this moment as much as possible.

Lightheaded, I grasp his shirt, clinging to him as we break apart. My chest is rising and falling rapidly as the noises around us come back into focus, reminding me we’re not alone.

“Hey,” he whispers, his voice low and husky as he swipes his thumb over the underside of my lip.

“Hi,” I tuck a strand of my hair behind my ear, suddenly feeling self-conscious. “I didn’t realize you were coming.”

“I have a class, so I figured I would wait a bit to see if you might show up.”

“Checking in on me?”

“Nah, I just wanted to see you.”

I sink my teeth into my lower lip, trying to stop a silly smile from spreading over my lips, but it’s useless. I like it. I like the fact that I wasn’t the only one who couldn’t get him off my mind. That I’m not the only one desperately needing to feel his mouth on mine, his…

“Birdy,” Sebastian warns, snapping me out of my thoughts.

“Yeah?”

“Stop it.”

“I wasn’t doing anything.”

“Liar.”

His hand slides to the small of my back, pulling me flush against him. Every hard inch of his body presses against me. And I meaneveryhard inch.

Letting my lip pop, I suck in a sharp breath as he leans down, his lips brushing against the shell of my ear. “This is what you do to me, Penelope. And all I can think about is getting you back to that apartment so I can have my way with you.”

His husky words make a shiver run down my spine. “You have a class to get to.”

“Fuck classes, le—”

I press my palm against his chest and push him away. “No, mister. We both have classes to go to. Now off with you.”

“Are you shooing me away?”

If I didn’t know better, I’d think I hurt his feelings.

“Yes. Off with you.”

“Fine,” Sebastian lets out a grumble. Chuckling, I grab Henry’s harness. “You have any plans for tonight?”

“Not really, why?”

“Then get ready, and I’ll pick you up. But no Henry since we have to ride there.”

My brows shoot up, a tingle of excitement warming my belly. “Like a date?”

“Hell no.”

“Well, don’t sound so appalled.”
