“What?” My jaw dropped at the question. Here I was exclaiming my life was over, and my self-centered sister was trying to get the 411 on my boss.

“Travis. The partner at the firm. He was hot, and I kinda got the feeling he thought I was cute. I was wondering if I should go for it.”

“Nope, no, nein,” I hissed into the phone. “You are not going after my boss. Keep your hands off of him, Chelsea. Also, I don’t know if he’s single or not.”

“No need to be a biatch, Polly,” she chastised me. “I was just wondering if—”

“Oh, did I tell you both that Molly texted me last night?” Harriet interrupted Chelsea. She was always the peacemaker. “She told me you were really bitchy to her because some hot guy you were seated with on the plane was flirting with her and wanted to take her to dinner.”

“She said that?” My jaw dropped at the audacity of Molly’s comments. “As if I would be jealous of her cheap-ass hair extensions and poor flirting,” I muttered. “She was the one coming onto Max, and he wasn’t interested.”

“Oh?” Chelsea said. “’Cause he’s interested in you?”

“Actually, yes.” I lowered my voice as I continued walking. “We made love last night.”

“I knew it!” Chelsea squealed. “Harriet, you owe me a hundred dollars.”

“What are you talking about?” I frowned. “Why does Harriet owe you a hundred dollars?”

“I bet Harriet you guys would bang on the first night, and she said no way.” Chelsea giggled.

“Thanks, Chelsea.”

“What?” She sounded innocent. “It’s very obvious to me that you’ve wanted in that man’s pants for a while, and he was stripping you with his eyes that day we were in the office.” She giggled. “I’m just surprised y’all didn’t get it on while you were on the plane.”

“He wanted to,” I admitted. “But I was not going to have our first time be on a plane.”

“So was he all you thought he would be?” Chelsea asked. “Huh? Huh?”

“Give her a second to answer.” Harriet laughed. “You’re way too excited about someone else’s sex life.”

“I can’t believe I’m the only Campbell sister not getting any.” Chelsea sounded sad. “And I’m the cutest one as well.”

“That’s debatable.” I laughed.

“Maybe Travis can stop my dry spell,” she asked innocently. “What do you think?”

“You wish. Hold on a second.” I laughed and stopped as I realized I had no idea where I was going. I looked at the map and the street crossroads I was looking for. I realized that I’d been going in the wrong direction and sighed as I turned back around. “To answer your question, it was hot. Very, very hot. Each and every time was even better.”

“Each and every time?” Chelsea sounded awed. “How many times are we talking?”

“Like five.” I giggled. “And one this morning in the shower.”

“You fucked in the shower?” Chelsea sounded surprised. “Say what?”

“Well, we started with him from behind, but then he pulled out and ate me out, and then I gave him a blowjob in the shower.” I blushed. “I’m not on birth control, so I guess he didn’t want to come inside of me.”

“He didn’t have condoms?” Chelsea sounded stern. “Please tell me he hasn’t been playing the pulling-out game every time you made love.”

“No,” I said quickly. “We used protection. This morning was just a heat-of-the-moment thing.”

“Heat of the moment leads to babies of the moment,” Harriet added quickly. “How you going to law school with a baby?”

“I’m not having a baby.” I rolled my eyes and thought,And I’m not sure if I want to go law school anyway.

“You need to go on the pill when you get back,” Harriet lectured me. “You don’t want any accidents.”

“I don’t know that I will need the pill after this trip.” I sighed. “I think Max is trying to fire me, and honestly, if he does, I don’t think he will be someone I could sleep with again.”
