“Stop the bleeding and I’ll tell you.”

Oh, well, he was in no position to bargain, now was he? She handled that.

Jinx put a bullet in Elroy.

Her vest beeped.

They’d forgotten about that. They were within city limits, and set off the city’s software.

“Shots fired and ShotSpotter activated. Police heading to the scene,” MATE said through the vests.

Well, shit.

That meant picking up the pace on this little interrogation.

“Where is she or you die?”

She shot him in the other leg, and again, MATE warned her.

He screamed in pain.

“I don’t know! All I know is she is getting everything ready for some Russian dude. We were blindfolded as we were taken to a warehouse to meet up with her.”

Interesting.

That might help.

“When is he arriving.”

“Friday! That’s all I know! She said she was going back to Germany before he landed! That’s all I know. I swear.”

Yeah, she believed him.

Because he was of no use to them, she put a bullet in his head, and they regrouped. They’d have to go out the back way.

“Get their phones and any tech,” Eve said as Jinx did just that.

They took whatever was promising, and then they hauled ass out of there. Maybe they could trace payment through their phones.

They were just clearing a back fence when they heard the sirens up front.

This was close.

Damn the city for getting that software.

“Are you clear?” Maura asked over their coms.

“Yep. We’re heading in. Oh, and make sure you tell the Spider that he needs to keep on his own turf. We don’t need backup. We need space,” Adder said.

Maura wasn’t shocked.

“I will. For the record, Lewis is a good guy, Ladies, you can trust him.”

Yeah, they’d be the judge of that. They’d run into a Spider once.

The Huntsman.

He was a dick.
