That made her pissy.

“The director told me they didn’t.”

“Well, the director lied to you. Isn’t that the same director who fucked you over in Columbia?” Jagger asked, pointing an angry Elizabeth right at the man.

“Yes, yes, he did.”

“Sounds like he’s up to his eyeballs. It’s his rogue agent, his agency…”

Elizabeth didn’t let him finish.

“I’ll be in contact.”

Immediately, she disconnected the call. She had some calls to make.

“Oh, he’s a deadman,” Zayn said. “Fifty says he turns up dead in the next week.”

Jagger laughed.

“I say she is sneakier. I give it a month.”

Reaper shrugged.

“I say I’m the one she calls to handle it,” he added.

Maura knew they could all be right. Elizabeth and betrayal…

Not a fan.

“Let’s regroup. We need to change into different gear. Zayn, you and Reaper drive the weapons back behind us. We’re going to keep the loot.”

“Can I get a cut of that?” Reaper asked. “You know, for my personal collection? Tall, Native, and pretty told me I had to earn it, and I didn’t want to give him a blowjob,” he joked.

“ZAYN!” came Stella’s voice over the com.

The big man began sputtering.

“My sweet Stella! He’s trying to make you angry! Don’t listen to that goddamn Spider. I’m going to squish him with my boot.”

The Marines all laughed.

“Yeah, you can have some,” Maura said. “Payment is only fair.”

He winked at Zayn.

“I really, really don’t like you,” he stated.

Well, they’d have to worry about that later.

They had a missing family member, and needed to get ready to go into a swamp.

At night.

In the dark.

How could this go bad?

Well, they were about to find out.
