He pushed himself off the sofa on unsteady feet and walked to her. He captured a curl of her long dark brown hair between his fingers and gave it a slight pull to make sure it wasn’t a wig. A satisfied smile appeared on his lips but was gone as soon as he met her eyes.

“That’s your real color,” he said in a low and dangerous tone.

“I’m wearing contact lenses. They told me you wanted green eyes,” she explained meekly.

He frowned for the longest of seconds, the air in the room turning ice cold. At last, he shrugged and smiled, baring his teeth in a feral way.

“I suppose it doesn’t really matter. Here are the rules,” he said, then took her wrists and guided her to the other side of the room before continuing. “Your name is Sienna.”

The hooker raised her brow but didn’t object. She must’ve been used to people wanting to play out their deepest and darkest fantasies. She didn’t resist wh

CHAPTER 2

It’sbeentwoweekssinceSienna’s worst nightmare had come true, and she got married against her will. Fourteen days since she’d been put into private protection assembled from the Carrington heirs themselves. Too many nights that she didn’t sleep through not only because of being the new Mrs. Kyle Remington, but also because she had shared the bed with the hottest group of guys she’d ever seen.

Her body had been hurt and bruised in the aftermath of the wedding. The Carrington heirs gave her plenty of time to heal, but they didn’t let her off the hook when it came to innuendos. The sexual tensions between them were higher than ever and now that she had recovered, she’d also run out of the excuses for not acting on it. Besides, she wanted it just as much as they did, maybe even more.

No matter what the wedding papers said about who she belonged to, her heart had been given to the Carrington heirs long before she’d been forced to sign anything. They were the only ones who would be allowed to claim any sort of rights over her. Not Kyle. Never Kyle.

Sienna put on her gym clothes, then looked at the remaining two heirs in the room, who were currently stuck on babysitting duty. Xavier was seated behind the table, doing his own thing on the computer, no doubt searching for any trace of Kyle. It didn’t matter because he wasn’t the one she wanted to accompany her anyway.

Aiden was laying on the sofa, watching another one of his ridiculous action movies on the TV. Sienna stepped between him and the TV, and to her annoyance, instead of giving her his attention, he tilted his head to the side and continued watching the movie. She cleared her throat loud enough that even Xavier looked up from his computer.

“What?” Aiden asked when he got the hint that she was waiting on him.

“I want to go to the gym.”

“Now?” he asked in a whiny voice. “My favorite part is about to come.”

“You’ve watched this movie more than six times since I came to the Carrington suite,” Sienna replied and narrowed her eyes at him for good measure.

“Which makes it a lot less than the number of times I’d have watched it you weren’t here,” he muttered under his breath.

“What?” she asked, pretending not to hear.

“Nothing,” Aiden replied with a groan and turned off the TV. “At least give me a minute to change.”

Sienna nodded, then watched him go to his room. She turned toward Xavier who was looking at her with amusement on his face.

“What?” she asked him.

“You’re the only person I know who gets him from zero to sixty in a second and yet, you’re also the only person he has the world of patience for,” Xavier commented with a smirk, then added, “I wonder why?”

Sienna rolled her eyes and pretended it didn’t mean anything to her when in reality, it made her heart beat faster in her chest. For a while now, she’d been struggling with her feelings toward the Carrington heirs. Xavier was the only one she thought she had clear in her mind, but then there were times when even he went off the spectrum and she had to start sorting out through her thoughts all over again.

Aiden entered the living room, wearing his usual sweat pants with a casual shirt, which he would take off once he started training. He liked the feel of the air on his skin whenever he moved to strike. Sienna didn’t mind because out of all four heirs, Aiden looked after himself the most. He spent most of his free time in the gym, working on his body muscles and perfectly sculpted abdomen.

“Ready?” he asked, his gray eyes meeting Sienna’s.

She nodded and gestured to the door. “Lead the way, Mr. Bodyguard.”

The corners of Aiden’s mouth twitched but instead of walking past her, he offered her his arm. Pleasantly surprised, Sienna hooked hers through his and let herself be guided to the gym area.

The hallways were filled with people, most of them were heavily armed guards. Their loyalties could be distinguished by their clan marks. The Carrington’s people had a bright letter C engraved, while the Lockwoods had a green emblem of the forest within the castle-like walls. It was just another proof that the Lockwoods were an old family, their wealth too vast to even imagine.

When they reached the gym, Aiden crossed his arms over his chest which only made his biceps stick out more. He gave her an expectant look, waiting for her to explain what was so important that he had to pause his favorite action movie. Unsure of how to start, Sienna began pacing the gym, looking everywhere but at him, although she was aware his eyes never let her out of his sight.

“I think I might be suffering from some sort of PTSD because of everything that happened,” she started, then took a deep breath, searching for words to continue. Aiden stood still, his presence comforting and the silence pleasant. “I never got a chance to fully process the Ryder massacre. There’s always been so many things going on and we had to be constantly on our guard one way or another. At first, I had to keep my defenses up around you, and then trying to figure out a way to take down the Remingtons, and now watching my back as we wait for Kyle to make his move.”
