“Lunch! Together? Just you and him?” I practically screech.
“Yes, also Atlas said my sisters are having a spa day, and I volunteered for you to go,” he keeps dropping these bombs all calm, cool, and collected like he is not giving me mild heart attacks on top of strokes. Because what!
“By myself?”
“Is this the same woman who beat a man’s ass in a white suit and brass knuckles? You will be fine, baby. Just be you, and your crazy will fit in with their crazy.”
“I’m crazy?” the way he looks at me briefly.
“Ni Ni,” he says, and I roll my eyes and cross my arms while throwing myself against the seat and looking out of the window.
“Exactly,” he says smugly.He makes me sick!”I think, well, I guess I am going to the spa with Jaa’s sisters and he’s going to lunch with my father.
“Thank you, baby,” I say softly.
“For what?”
“For being who you are, for treating my parents like you did, for taking care of me,” I say.
“All of these things are things that bring me pleasure to do and will always be the bare minimum for me to do. You never have to say thank you, your pleasure, happiness and peace are my thank you.”Uggh, yeah, I got it bad for this man.

Parker has an event tonight, and I plan on picking her up since I have a little surprise for her. Tonight is a meet and greet for her staff and potential clients, making it a very important night. I will match Ni Ni tonight with an all-white suit and orange accessories. Walking in makes an impression, and I can see the gleam in the eyes of some of the attendees. I think they think I am a part of Parker’s harem. Well, they can get that gleam right out of their eyes because that is not an option. I can see her ‘uniform’ on the other side of the room and begin making my way to her. I can hear whispers as I pass people, all the talk and snickers but fuck’em.
“Baby! What are you doing here?” she says as soon as she sees me.
“I came to support you, and I have a surprise when you are free tonight.”
“Well, hell, I’m ready to go now!”
“Ni Ni, you said this was an important night; the surprise can wait.”
“Are you sure? I can leave this to the triplets.”
“You are a successful businesswoman, so I do not need to tell you this, but you should always keep a close eye on your business no matter how much you trust them.”
“I know I was just eager to be with you, but let me do what I need to do,” she led me over to where she was sitting. We are repeatedly stopped as we make our way by various people, and I can hear the whispering once we move away.
“If one more person says some slick shit out of their mouth, I am going to shut this place down!” she says once we make it to our table.
“Baby let them talk; it’s not a big deal,”
“Fuck that! It is a big deal,” I pull her to me and kiss the tip of her nose.
“Please calm down, baby, it’s fine, really,” she gives me an irritated look.
“You are too calm for me. I know you are not always this calm; I have seen you with your brothers.”
“The males here are not my brothers.”
“So what? Why does that matter? You need to let them know you are not a punk or a cuckold.”
“It matters because I am not a fighter, baby, I am a killer, and I know my brothers can handle anything I bring. I would end up in prison confronting these boys. So please relax, and go handle your business. I’ll be here when you are ready.”
