She wasn’t meant for society.

She was meant for me.

All wild hair and sharp claws.

Soft yet fierce.

She was the part I’ve been missing for thirty-plus years, and I no longer feel that way.

What’s the devil without a queen to conspire in sin with?

He’s just a mere mortal man.

And I’ve never viewed myself as a mortal man.

If there really is a Hell, then I hope one day to be there and claim it for my own, just like I’ve claimed her. A queen of darkness and depravity.

A deviant all of my own.

EPILOGUE

OCTOBER

Iput my arms behind my back and stretch, feeling my vertebrae crack. I quit working at Onyx about a month ago to take this flex job.

I work half the week in the office and the rest of the week I can work from home, which is a nice change of pace. I never get stagnant, staring at the same four walls of an office area for five days straight.

Bartending was just a way to pass time as I looked for work elsewhere, and after Dad and I got together, I just preferred no longer working for him. Our world was already so tightly bound together, we both needed a line drawn in the sand for professionalism. But that month I spent working the bar at Onyx was one of the funnest times of my life, and I don’t regret it at all.

Leaving the room that Maverick, yes, I refer to him by his name more often than not, turned into a home office for me, I head to the kitchen. I pull items out of the fridge and the pantry so I can get started on making dinner for tonight.

Before we head to Opal.

All I know is Maverick has something planned, and I’m both excited and nervous. In the last two months I’ve been to the club numerous times, sometimes to play and sometimes just to watch. He either joins me or he takes care of whatever has popped up that requires his attention.

I’m seasoning steak when my phone goes off.

Justina: Can I drag you out or are you spending the night bouncing on Daddy’s dick? Winky face. Drooling emoji

I roll my eyes at my best friend. I still remember the day I had to tell her that she wasn’t high as fuck when she saw us kissing at the club. We were there for a girl’s night and Ian had just dropped drinks off at our table when I told her I’d be right back.

I slinked off so I could pop into his office knowing he was working on-site that night, and he was in the hallway coming toward me.

“Hey wildcat. I was just popping out to say hi to you two and making sure you guys didn’t need anything,” he told me and I leaned up to kiss him, pushing him against the wall. His hands were on my ass as he ground his erection into my belly.

Pulling away, I told him, “I need to get back to Justina.”

A throat cleared before I heard her, “Oh, don’t stop on my account. I was enjoying the show and have so. Many. Questions.” The smugness in her tone was not unnoticed.

“Go on, and yes, you can tell her. You aren’t my fucking secret and she’s your best friend. Give her a chance to prove you wrong.” He already knew where my head was at.

Justina and I walked back out and went back to our table, and I laid it all out on the table. I told her literally fucking everything, not leaving a single moment out.

I remember what she said to me after it was said and done.

“October, I love you. You’re like my sister and I will never judge you. Unless you wear stripes and polka dots together. Then I’m judging the fuck out of you. You’re happy, happier than I’ve ever seen you and you finally are you. I can’t explain it. I don’t have the words, but this is who you were meant to be. I’m so fucking happy for you and that you got some fine-ass dick. Some daddy dick, to be exact. I just know he’s got that devil dick.”

If she only fucking knew.
