“And you are?” Aurora asks.

“Onyx Maxwell.”

“As in these Maxwells?” she asks, pointing between Shep and me.

“One and the same,” Onyx replies dryly.

“That’s our cousin,” Shep says with a smirk.

People often mistake Onyx as our friend instead of a relative since he’s biracial.

We’ve traveled just under three hundred miles by plane to Prestige. It’s a private gentlemen’s club partially owned by one of Shep’s deviant friends. He pays a ridiculously expensive annual membership to join a club that caters to all his sexual fetishes and freakish proclivities.

For some strange reason, he thought coming here for a night would cure what ails me.

What ails me is one woman who’s had my mind and dick tied up in knots for weeks. Three, to be exact.

Three fucking weeks. That’s how long it’s been since I left Yesenia at her apartment with her husband.

Her fucking husband!

How the fuck had she failed to mention to me that she was married? I’ve been inside her in every imaginable way, and never once had she told me she had a husband.

I sip from my glass of AsomBroso and put out my cigar before glancing at my brother, whom I’ve apparently tuned out.

“Cade,” he calls gruffly as Aurora nibbles on his ear.

“What?”

“What the fuck did you do?” Shep asks.

“About?”

“Yaya. You were telling us about Yaya. Remember?”

“Yeah, before Shep started getting his dick sucked,” Onyx says with a sneer and a roll of his eyes.

“I can do the same for you. I’m an equal opportunity lover,” Aurora purrs from her perch on Shep’s lap.

Smirking, Onyx replies, “No thanks. I’m not into sharing, babe.”

“Don’t know what you’re missing,” she giggles.

“There’s enough ass around him to get his fair share,” I reply before sipping my tequila again.

Onyx looks around at all the beautiful women in the room before returning to us.

“If you three are done cat fighting now, I’d like to hear how you handled the situation with Yaya’s husband,” Shep says.

In a moment of brotherly bonding, I’d shared with Shep what happened with Nia and me. I wouldn’t have ever mentioned anything had Kostas not told Shep I’d brought an exotic beauty to the party. He’d told Shep her name, and Shep called me in disbelief.

That’s when I had to tell him what happened when I returned her to her apartment. He’d correctly surmised the tension in my voice as anger and hurt and suggested this trip to North Carolina’s Club Prestige.

“Looked at her and asked you’ve got to be fucking kidding me.”

“What did she say?”

“Honestly, she looked as if she’d seen a ghost.”
