“And who is this beauty?” Theo questioned looking to her with a smile.
“Grandfather, this is Hailey, or as I’m now lucky enough to call her, my darling love and fiancée,” Stefano stated moving to stand behind her as they faced the room.
“What?!” their mothers gasped in cadence.
“Truly?” Elena asked settling a hand on her heart.
“Yes, Thomas I should have called to ask your permission, but I couldn’t stop myself from asking,” Stefano stated as she lifted her hand to show them the ring. “I will always treasure her; you have my word on that.”
“You’d better, she’s my little darling after all,” Thomas replied moving over to kiss her cheek. “You look radiant my girl. Love suits you it seems.”
“It does Dad, it truly does,” she assured him.
“And how did this happen?” her mother asked as she and Elena looked at the ring, tears sparkling in Elena’s eyes when she recognized it.
“I saw Hailey the first time I was in town to look over the company and I quickly fell at her feet. We kept our relationship quite until the takeover was finalized but I had already asked her to marry me by then.”
“Your grandmother’s ring has never shone brighter,” his grandfather stated lifting Hailey’s hand into his own. “She would be honored for you to wear it and become part of this family. Any woman who can make this grandson of mine fall in love has to be an extraordinary find.”
“That she is Grandfather,” Stefano agreed. “She is my world.”
“Don’t tell me we missed the announcement,” they heard Demetrius spout and Hailey saw the way Olympia’s eyes tightened and her body shrank inward telling her she was no more thrilled to be marrying Demetrius than he was her.
“We just couldn’t wait any longer,” Stefano said easily turning to look at him, finding Kyra beside him shooting daggers at Hailey. “Kyra, I thought you were in London still.”
“Demetrius called me Tuesday with the craziest news that you were getting married to little Hailey. I couldn’t possibly have missed seeing this,” she replied letting her gaze slide up and down her unimpressed. “You haven’t changed at all have you? Same hair and everything I see.”
“Why mess with impeccable perfection?” Stefano questioned dropping a kiss against her temple as he ran a hand up and down her arm.
“Stefano, you’re going to make me blush,” she teased him knowing it would irritate Demetrius and Kyra but thrill their mothers.
“I love your blushes almost as much as I love you,” he replied, and she saw Elena beam brightly as she watched him drop a sweet kiss on her lips.
“Excuse me while I go throw up,” Kyra said in Greek earning a glowering glare from both Stefano and Elena.
“Kyra…” Elena said as Nikolas tried to intervene.
“Why don’t we get you settled in your room? From the looks of Thomas and Leann I’d say someone was told to dress for dinner tonight,” he oozed, and Stefano nodded seeing Jack bringing in his bags as well as Hailey’s dress bag.
“Yes, Berta should have champagne chilling and Jack has just brought in Hailey’s dress. You should change,pethi mou, and then we shall celebrate fully,” he told her with a whisper soft kiss that had her mother sighing.
“You can use the guest room across from Stefano,” Elena suggested.
“I’ll keep Thomas company while you and the others change,” Nikolas stated.
Leann headed upstairs with them sharing a smile with Elena seeing the gentle way Stefano guided Hailey up the steps.
“Mmm, I’ll see you soon,” he said kissing her lips as they parted.
“Do you promise to leave my hair alone if I wear it up tonight?” she asked letting her eyes sparkle at him while their mothers watched.
“I will do my best,” he promised giving her another soft kiss, “I love you Hailey.”
“No more than I love you,” she replied letting her mother turn her into the room hearing the truth in her voice.
“Oh Hailey, honey, I am so happy for you,” Leann gushed staring down at the ring. “It’s a gorgeous ring.”
“It was Stefano’s grandmother’s ring; his grandfather gave it to him for his bride after she passed. It truly is stunning, isn’t it?”
