“Yes, I want him so much, but I do want to wait until the wedding. I know it’s just as difficult for him, more so most likely since he knows what’s on the other side of it.”

“June is not that far away, barely two and a half months from now you will be married to him and waking in his arms every day.”

“It cannot arrive soon enough,” Hailey sighed keeping a smile on her face through the next morning despite having to deal with Demetrius. She was well aware of his every little move but made sure to stay where others were, giving him no chance of blatantly attempting anything with her. Olympia and the mothers arrived to pick her up at noon, and she allowed them to lead the meeting, not caring what the reception consisted of simply on the after portion, getting Stefano to make love to her, want her as his for life.

“If we have the ceremony at six that would put the dinner at about eight and we can get most guests out by eleven,” her mother stated. “Stefano let us know that you would be spending the first night at the house there and said the timeline was fine for him.”

“Sounds great,” she agreed. “We’ll need lighting for outside then.”

“We can start planning that with the photos that Stefano sent to us of what the landscape looks like,” Gina assured them. “We can always make some adjustments to it once the remodel is finished but it just depends on colors and theme you had in mind.”

“Stefano said the field just beyond here is full of lavender blooms during June and July, I think that and maybe a coral with some peach would work well,” Hailey suggested, and the mothers ran with it, giving her time to sit and think about what the wedding night would be like. She wanted it to hurry yet she was content letting each day pass, allowing her love for Stefano to grow. By the time the wedding arrived, she would have no fears or hesitation to make love with him, just hopeless butterflies dancing in her stomach.

They arranged to meet their mothers and Olympia at Sunset Estate Friday afternoon and she wasn’t surprised when Xavier joined them in the limo for the ride there. She allowed him and Stefano to work while she rested against his side. His hand slid up and down her hip leaving a smile on her lips content with the work conversation going on around them.

Stefano showed her to a room, and she realized it was the master suite. She glanced at him over her shoulder after taking in the view from the double French doors that opened out onto a private balcony. It was gorgeous and she knew she didn’t want to leave. She wanted to stay right where she was forever, with him next to her.

“I’ve put your mother next to you on the right and mine across the hall. Olympia is next to her in the corner bedroom and then Xavier and I will stay downstairs. I want you to get comfortable with this room. Once we’re married, we will be sharing it,” he said quietly coming over to show her around it.

“What’s that room?” Hailey asked seeing the connecting door along the wall where the bed sat, it was a magnificent bed and she wanted crawl up onto it with him, see just how soft it would be compared to his hard chest.

“See for yourself,” he replied turning the knob to open into the empty room. She moved around the space taking in the large windows bringing fresh light into the room and the door that led to the hallway.

“I put your mother on the other side so they wouldn’t see that this one connects to it. Once we’re married, we’ll retire into our bedroom together and then I will come in here,” he lied; he had no intention of any bed but a crib being in that room. “If our mothers do discover it while we’re here right now I’ll simply say it’s empty because I plan to necessitate it being turned into a nursery very soon.”

“It would make a beautiful one, wouldn’t it?” she mused seeing the crib along the wall, a rocking chair situated in the corner between the two windows, and her heart ached for his child.

“Yes, it will,” he agreed, holding his breath hoping she didn’t pick up on his wording. He wasn’t about to have her running away from him.

“Why did you buy this place Stefano?” she asked turning around to face him. “It’s a home for a family yet you do not plan to have one…didn’t plan on it at the time you purchased it.”

“I wanted somewhere close enough to Mother that she wouldn’t worry in the event that Nikolas and she ever parted ways. At the time I bought it I hadn’t yet decided that I wouldn’t marry and have children…”The opposite in fact, slipped into his subconscious and he saw the light surprise on her face at that knowledge. “It’s only been since then and seeing how women reacted to me and the wealth, the power I possess that I knew it would be pointless to hope for a woman to want the man over it.”

“Plenty of women want the man along with it though, surely one of them would have been happy to provide you with a son,” she stated hating the idea of him touching another woman let alone having a child with one. She wanted his children to be hers and only hers, just as she wanted him to only be hers.

“Perhaps, but I don’t think I would have been happy with them around,” he replied easily. “You are different; we are different, which makes this different from that idea. Now, go ahead and unpack, then I will give all of you a tour of the house and the property besides the construction going on for the new barn. Grandfather has been here overseeing it since Wednesday. He assures me they’re well ahead of schedule.”

“Our mothers aren’t about to change the wedding date; it’s now set in stone Stefano.”

“I know and I do believe it will be the perfect date. I can remember the day we met. You had your hair in two pigtail braids hanging down over your shoulders. You weren’t happy to be drug over to meet your new neighbors.”

“I was supposed to be at a riding lesson but instead I was forced to go meet you all and discovered that Kyra instantly hated me.”

“That’s because when I took the two of you down to the barn, she realized how lacking she was when it came to riding. When Mother came down to see how you were getting along, she fell for your sweet smile and Kyra took both of those things to mean she had to be better than you at everything in order for Mother to love her more than you.”

“It’s good to know that it wasn’t just in my imagination.”

“It wasn’t,pethi mou,” he agreed giving her a soft kiss before walking them towards the door hearing footsteps approach. “Unpack, you are far too tempting this close to a bed my love.”

“I’ll see you in a bit,” Hailey said as their mothers stepped in behind him to help her leaving a smile on her lips with hope for the future.

Chapter 10

“I

’m just going to pop in and let Stefano know we’re going to lunch,” Hailey told Olympia as they moved through the office towards the doors.

“I don’t mind,” Olympia replied with a smile that put a light glint in Hailey’s eyes knowing her father was coming into town today. Stefano had put in the request last week claiming he was far too busy with wedding details for him to get to Greece for it.
