“Stefano…” she said when he moved behind her, kissing the side of her neck.

“I’ve wanted to do this since I saw the cretin’s arms around you. You are mine.”

“Yes, I’m yours,” she agreed. “I never said yes to his idea of a proposal.”

“I know you wouldn’t have, and he is lucky that I did not allow my true rage at him to be released. Any man who dares to put bruises on your body should be shot. Your skin is not so tender that a little pressure would leave behind a bruise but for him to leave one across your cheek…upon your throat…”

Hailey breathed in sharply and she turned around stepping away from him in confusion. “How did you know that?”

“What?” Stefano asked moving towards her to pull her back into his arms. She shook her head at him and took another step back wanting answers. “Hailey, my darling what is wrong?”

“How did you know who Elliot was? I’ve never mentioned him,” she said realizing that he’d known the name and details, but it was months before he came to town seeking out the company.

“Of course, you did, when telling me of the dates and men who have left you feeling nothing,” he stated not wanting to upset her with the real reason how he knew, how Elliot had been sent away. She would not understand.

“No, I didn’t. I would never have mentioned him because he was far too much like Demetrius and I wouldn’t want you to know that despite your warnings I allowed another man of that cloth to fool me for a bit.”

“You must have mentioned him while we were talking of Demetrius, or perhaps it was on the island. We talked about much whilst you were drowsy, lying naked in my arms.”

“Stefano do not lie to me. I have never met a man who was honest about his intentions towards me until you. So do not start lying to me now,” she said, and he knew he should simply tell her the truth, but he didn’t want to risk her pulling away. If she knew how much he had overstepped or that Artemis has been watching her for the last six years she would do just that.

“I overheard a couple of the girls gossiping in the hallway one day, wondering how long it’d taken for us to meet after the Elliot incident,” he said knowing it was a lie of good intentions and he could live with it. “I did not want to upset you, make you think I was questioning you when you said you had not been serious with anyone, but I wanted you as mine, agape mou. I needed to know about this man, so I asked a few people very discretely. Even now I will not tell you whom and they will not tell you they spoke to me about it.”

“Because you are the boss, and I am simply your wife?” she said putting a smile onto his lips. “What else have you asked my co-workers about me?”

“Nothing but that my darling, I promise,” he stated honestly, and she believed him. “Now am I forgiven?”

“That depends on what you’re willing to do for me,” she said with a smile because she wanted nothing more than for him to sweep her up onto the bed and love her all night.

“Beg on my knees for you to forgive me for overstepping,” he suggested putting a deep look of desire into her eyes. “Yes, I do believe that is how I should earn your forgiveness…”

“Stefano,” she gasped as he swept her dress over her head, discarding her bra with ease letting his lips explore the curve of her breasts, down to the gentle swell of her stomach and then even lower as he knelt before her.

“So sweet, yineka mou,” he stated pressing kisses to her stomach. “Swelling as the fruits of the trees as they ripen, that is you growing with our precious children.”

“Yes,” she sighed shaking as he slid her last piece of clothing from her, a single hand coming up to rest against her back and steady her.

His mouth sought out the hidden nub and did not release her until her legs were faltering. He lifted her into his arms, laying her out across the bed before shedding his clothes as her hands sought him.

“Love me Stefano,” she cried pulling him towards her.

“Am I forgiven, agape mou?” he whispered against her lips.

“Yes, always my…Husband,” she said catching herself from calling him her love. She did not want to risk the pleasure that was to come to them both by uttering it now. It was more than just pleasure that she felt, and she did not want to be wrong and lose both it and her heart.

“Show me,” he stated turning onto his back, bringing her over him so he could see her entire body, the swell of her stomach within easy reach.

“Gladly,” she agreed setting a pace that left them both quaking for a long time to come.

“Are you alright my darling?” Stefano asked as a shudder ran through her. His hands slid through her tresses and he pressed a kiss to the top of her head making her smile.

“Never better, truly Stefano,” she said when he lowered his face to see her eyes. “You sate me quite well.”

“Then why the shudder? Is it of fright of what is between us?”

“No, it is far from that,” she admitted rubbing her nose against his chest as a blush lit her face. “I simply cannot contain how much I want you no matter how much pleasure you have already given me tonight.”

“You frighten yourself with your passion for me? Oh, my darling, you have nothing to fear for I am the same. I should not be able to love you already but feel what you do to me,” he said sliding her hand down to his aching mass straining for her.
