Bobby's face turns red with fury. "What the fuck! What evidence? How did you come by it?" He aims his gun at Alfonso.

I hesitate for a moment before speaking. "I have rescued underage girls and obtained Maxim's confession, among other incriminating evidence. It's crucial that we put an end to Alfonso's actions. As for Maxim, I have already taken care of him for betraying me. Now, I have a proposal for you, Bobby."

Bobby gazes at me, weighing my proposition. "And what exactly do you suggest we do?"

Marrying Adalina could be the key to forming an alliance with the Outfit and taking down Alfonso.

"I propose marrying Adalina to forge an unbreakable bond between the Outfit and the Chicago Bratva. It is the best way to protect ourselves and hopefully prevent this from ever happening again."

Bobby scrutinizes me skeptically. "So, you expect us to believe that after you kidnapped Adalina and held her captive for weeks, you suddenly want to marry her?"

"I care for Adalina. My intentions are to protect her and ensure her happiness. I am even willing to give her a choice - Adalina can decide for herself if she wants to marry me."

Turning to face Adalina, I assert, "I cannot allow you to marry Alfonso."

Adalina gazes at me, seemingly taken aback and shocked.

"Bobby, Paul, what the fuck? You really trust this guy?" Alfonso questions as he takes a step closer to me.

Alfonso directs an intense glare my way. "I've had enough of you, Federov! You will marry Adalina over my dead body."

"Well, that can be arranged," I retort with conviction.

I watch as Alfonso reaches for the gun at his waist. The church instantly descends into chaos as four of Mario's men join him, guns drawn. Adalina rushes towards me, and I swiftly grab her arm, pulling her behind me while retrieving my own gun from my shoulder holster. Mario points his gun at me, but before he can shoot, I take down Alfonso with a single shot to the head. Brains and blood splatter everywhere. The fool forgot that I am an assassin.

Gunfire erupts, shattering the once peaceful ambiance of the church. Alfonso's men start firing their weapons, causing panic and screams among the guests. I signal my men, and they spring into action. I push Adalina to the ground and shield her with my body, protecting her from the chaos.

The Outfit’s men swiftly respond, engaging us in a fierce gunfight. The scene becomes a whirlwind of violence as everyone seeks cover. Bullets fly, smashing through objects and filling the air with the acrid scent of gunpowder. It becomes apparent that Alfonso's men are not only targeting me and my soldiers but also the members of the Outfit.

A brutal battle unfolds between Alfonso's soldiers and the combined forces of the Outfit and the Bratva. Gunfire echoes through the church as both sides fight for dominance. The ground becomes littered with the fallen, their agonized screams blending with the hail of bullets. Among the casualties is Angel Gaito, Adalina's father.

As the battle rages on, it becomes clear that this conflict is more than just a feud between rival gangs. It is a fight to the death, a struggle for power and control. Alfonso's men continue their assault, but the Outfit and Bratva soldiers prove superior. Alfonso is dead, his forces defeated. His few surviving men flee the church, to lick their wounds and undoubtedly plan their revenge.

As I stand up, pulling Adalina with me, I notice she is shaking. I wrap my arms around her, offering comfort and support. My attention is drawn to Bobby Vincenzio, who is crouched over his wife, Gwen. Her head is covered in blood, and Bobby's cries for an ambulance fills the air.

Paul Vincenzio joins Bobby, crouching down beside him and checking Gwen's pulse. "She's still alive, Bobby," Paul says, examining her head for any signs of a bullet wound. "Maybe she was just grazed by a bullet or fell and hit her head."

Bobby breaks down in tears, overwhelmed with grief.

Meanwhile, Paul stands up and approaches me and Adalina. He exudes a sense of authority, finally resembling a capo of the Chicago Outfit. Sirens grow louder in the vicinity.

"Nikolai, thank you for your help. We need to talk, but now is not the time. Get Adalina out of here. I'll handle the cops," Paul says, extending his hand to shake mine.

I nod in acknowledgment, understanding the urgency of the situation.

Police and paramedics swarm into the church, issuing commands. The paramedics quickly attend to Gwen, starting an IV and preparing a stretcher. Bobby carefully lifts her onto the stretcher and follows the paramedics out of the church.

I gaze down at Adalina, she is trembling and clutching her blood and dirt-stained wedding dress. Tears streak her face, a reflection of her fear and distress.

I tighten my arms around her, pulling her close. In that moment, I know that I will do anything to keep her safe and make her happy. Even if it means risking everything I have ever known.

"We need to leave," I whisper, taking her hand firmly in mine.

Adalina nods, wiping away her tears. Hand in hand, we make our way towards the back door of the church, heading for the waiting SUV parked in the alley.

Adalina's eyes widen in surprise as she turns to face me. "Why?" she asks.

"I couldn't let you go through with this. I won't allow anyone else to have you," I reply firmly.
