“Don’t just sit there,” I say.

“Miss me already?”

I laugh. “You wish. It’s creepy. Either get in or get out.”

“I knew you were doing naughty things in here.”

Rolling my eyes, I say; “You wish. Pig.”

Caine flashes a wicked smile. He takes off his sweats and tosses them aside. He climbs in with me. I shift to make room and he pulls me onto his lap, his back resting against the tub.

Between the warm water and Caine’s rock hard body, I’m so relaxed I feel boneless. The lavender fragrance of bath bubbles is soothing and my eyes fall closed.

His lips graze my throat. His hand cups my breast, playing with my nipple until it hardens. I arch my back, a gasp of pleasure leaving my lips. I reach between our bodies to caress his hard length. He stiffens fully underneath my touch. His breath turns ragged and hoarse. My pussy pulses with need at those sounds.

Slowly, the intensity between us ramps until it turns into a battle. Who can ravage the other better, who can make the other come first?

Heat is rising inside of me. Building to an eruption.

Raising onto my knees, I slide onto Caine’s slick cock. The water laps against my body. I moan when I take all of him in. His rough grunt tells me he’s enjoying it. His hand twists into my hair and he angles my mouth to his.

The kiss is soft, the opposite of our thrusts. Caine’s arm wraps around me. The only sounds in the room are the water lapping gently and our mingled breaths as we chase our bliss. My fingers grip the tub on either side, clenching it so tight my knuckles turn white. It keeps me steady just as his arms around my body do.

Pleasure is reaching its crescendo. It erupts, spilling out inside of me and I come with a scream. I lose myself to the moment.

Chapter 19

Aurora

When we return to Boston, Tawny kidnaps me for wedding planning. She wants to do most of the work and since I don’t want to marry her brother, that suits me just fine.

But the one thing I have to do is choose my dress. Tawny is aghast at me not caring, but she has a point. I have to wear the damn thing for a whole day, so I suppose I should pick something I like. If I hate the dress, it’s guaranteed to make a rough day worse.

There are aspects of marriage to Caine I find more appealing after we started sleeping together, but I’m still on the fence about the whole thing.

At least it beats a Dullahans versus the O’Connors war. Not by much, but the stakes are too high. Sometimes you have to choose the least objectionable of two bad options to keep people alive.

So I let Tawny drag me into a bridal boutique. Her bodyguards have the place closed down in minutes. Judging by how pleased the store’s employees are, I guess it involves bribes rather than threats.

“Why did you do that?” I ask Tawny.

“What do you mean?”

“Bridal boutiques aren’t like outlet malls crowded with people. Closing down the store seems excessive.”

Tawny shrugs prettily. “I hate crowds. Caine knows, so he paid for a bribe. But honestly, I think he just wants us to get along.”

I startle. That it might matter to Caine that his sister and I get along feels foreign. Feels almost attentive and I can’t handle that.

“Whatever,” I say, waving my hand dismissively.

“I really would have preferred to leave Boston for this. I can’t believe Caine wouldn’t let me come to New York with you guys. I love Saks Fifth Avenue.” Tawny sniffs, turning her nose up at the shop. “But Da is insisting on a proper wedding already next month. I’m telling you I’m overworked and I’ve only been planning it for a day.”

“My sympathies,” I say dryly.

Tawny looks at me in exasperation. “At least you’re pretty. That must be what Caine sees in you because it sure as hell isn’t your sunny personality.”

If only Tawny weren’t an O’Connor, I’d smack her for a comment like that.
