“Alleged fiancée,” she said. “Given that I’ve never even met her--”

“Why would you know about her?” he challenged. “Are we friends? Have we ever had a conversation about my personal life that didn’t involve my dad in some way?”

She rolled her eyes. “Maybe not me, but you would have told your father. He would have met this woman by now.”

He huffed. “Maybe you and Dad didn’t know about her because you never bothered to ask me about her,” he said. The door opened just then and Mary came walking in with the glass of water and aspirin. She walked up to the desk and handed both to Richard, looking meekly at Rebecca as she turned and left the room.

Rebecca watched him as he popped the aspirin and took a sip of water before saying, “What game are you really playing at, Richard? I mean, how long do you think you can keep up this charade? You can’t stall the lawyers forever. Pretty soon they’re going to start asking for something more than just your word. You can’t fake this.”

“I’m not faking anything,” he said. “I have a fiancée.”

“Do you? Is she in the room with us now?” He glared at her angrily and she crossed her arms, standing like a wall between him and what was rightfully his.

“I know how it went with you and your ex-wife,” she said. “I know very well that she broke you in a way that can’t be fixed. You couldn’t find happiness with a woman if she was sitting naked on your lap and we both know it.”

“You just can’t stand it that my father shut you out,” he said. “That’s why you’re in here harassing me at damn near nine in the morning. Don’t you have a broom to ride or something?”

She gave him a cold look, then said, “Fine. Play your stupid games. I don’t care. This will all be mine soon anyway.”

Rebecca turned to leave, then stopped right before she reached the door. “By the way, I’m having a dinner party on the 19th. I fully expect your attendance.”

“I’d rather chew glass,” he responded and she laughed.

“Oh, you’ll be there. You and your alleged fiancée…or else I might be forced to have a little sit down with my own attorneys about this fiasco.”

He scoffed. “Now who’s playing games?”

“That’s still you, darling,” she said. “I’m just hosting a dinner party. Please wear something nicer than whatever that is and tell the hooker you hired to play the part of your fiancée to do the same. Kisses.”

She left and Richard was fuming. Since he was twelve, that woman always seemed to know exactly what buttons to push. No doubt this dinner party was a ruse to try and flush out his fake fiancée. Rebecca was going to be harder to convince than the estate lawyers could ever be.

He grabbed his suit and went into the adjoining bathroom of the office and took a shower. Under the warm water, his mind started to drift back to the seedy night with Stella. He thought about how her body looked as she backed into him, moving her hips with his thrusts. He remembered the way she looked with her face down on the mattress, turned to the side so he could see her lovely face, her moist red lips open as high-pitched moans fell from them.

Before he knew it he was hard. He needed to stop thinking of her…but for now, he needed to get off.

He closed his eyes and touched himself, trying to mimic the way she felt around his cock -- soft, soaking wet and so tight. He’d managed to last two rounds with her and if he was being honest, that had been a miracle. He had never gone so long during a sexual encounter. But with Stella, it just seemed natural. He couldn’t get enough of her. He couldn’t remember the last time being inside a woman felt so good.

The thought that got him off in the shower was the same thing that got him off in bed with Stella. During their second round, he was on top, her legs on his shoulders, her nails digging into his arms…and her eyes locked with his. The world was in her eyes at the moment of her climax. He could see galaxies in them as her eyebrows started to knit together and her mouth opened in a rough, guttural moan.

Oh, yes, fucking yes, yes, YES…

He moaned in surprise as his orgasm shook him, hard. His knees started to weaken, leaving him to lean against the tile wall, his body shaking.

And after, he finished washing up and stepped out of the shower, feeling momentarily purged from the hold that the previous night seemed to have on him. He got dressed and put on cologne, then went about his work day.

Despite his dirty thoughts about Stella, his eyes were still on the prize. Maybe it was good that they got sex out of the way. There could be no tension now. His one night with Stella meant nothing and that meant that nothing was going to change between them. She had a job to do and he was paying her a massive amount to make sure she gets it done.

First things first. He called his father’s lawyer and arranged for a meeting with them. He was going to have to brief Stella on it quickly before they went in. That part was going to be trickier than trying to fool Rebecca or anyone at this dinner party he’d been invited to. The lawyer would probably ask questions about what she knew about him and maybe even what he knew about her.

It wasn’t going to be anything greatly personal though, he was sure of it. She’d have to know things like his middle name and whether or not he was allergic to a certain food. But it was all nothing that he couldn’t compile and give to her.

It was going to be fine he thought after he talked to the lawyer. And once he figured out a loophole for this rule, he would be able to put this entire thing behind him once and for all. He leaned back in his chair and thought how delicious it was going to be to see Rebecca’s face crack the minute it was all over. He was already thinking of what he was going to say to her once they awarded him his father’s estate.

We’ll keep you on,he’d say.The janitorial staff needs to be expanded anyway. I’m sure you’ll fit in fine there.

He laughed to himself at that. If he got nothing else out of all this, getting Rebecca was going to be well worth all the trouble that he was going through.
