The first buzz.

Chapter45

Lucas

She’s sitting at the table and from the second I pushed the button, Allie jerked in her seat, turning stiff as a board, and clenching her thighs together.

That will only push it deeper.

The immense power in my hands watching her squirm is like a high—mostly just watching her enjoy it. I casually lean back against the bar with a beer while Allie grips the sides of her chair like a rocket about to go off.

Oh, she’s hot like this. I’ll bet it wouldn’t take much to get her to touch herself in front of me.

“Lucas,” John stops beside me. “How’s it going?”

It’s impossible to take my eyes off her. “Fine, thanks. How’s your evening, John?”I’m currently in control of your assistant right now and have her by the wet pussy I’ll be eating later, but, hey.

Come to think of it, she should wear this to work. I think that could be interesting if she were in a meeting.

He orders a drink for himself and his wife while I watch Allie choke down on her water at the table. John mentions something about an auction. I didn’t realize they had one tonight. Tom may have mentioned it, but I was on my phone looking at ways to make Allie squirm in public.

“...and he’s making the announcement after. I think it will be fantastic for the ticket sales, and it’s great since he speaks so highly of you. It will be an easy partnership.”

The way her hips adjust in her seat, and Allie slowly grinds against it, has my dick hardening. I may have to drag her to the bathroom in a minute. John goes on about something and I can’t help but push the button on the remote in my pocket, spiking the intensity up a level.

Or three.

She’s beautiful in all forms with that unsuspecting way Allie goes through life. But damn, the way she lights up in shock and curiosity, like she did earlier, no one else compares to her. Especially like now, when she tries to cover her squeals from the people at the table. They glance in her direction every so often and when Allie turns her head, her cheeks are flushed and lips parted.

“It will be good for the community,” John says. Sure, whatever he thinks. I don’t really care. “Plus, there are other options for him to pursue, and the transition will be easier now that we have you. We’ll start building a younger staff next year, too.”

“Mhm.”

Allie’s ring is in my other pocket and every time the box moves against my leg, my nerves spike. She could say no. I don’t think she will, but she could.

Fuck, I hope she doesn’t.

“Alright Lucas, have a good evening.” John takes his drinks and leaves me to go back to his table.

I will have a great evening. I’ll be making love with my future tonight.

Positive thinking and ignoring the part where I said I’d take things slow are doing the trick. It’s just a question, though. She can hold off on an actual wedding as long as she wants.

This place is the type of event Kat’s family would drag me to over the last several months. I didn’t mind it since it was free and I had nothing better to do. I rarely drink because I’m not a fan, but my nerves keep getting the best of me and I need to calm down.

In three hours, I’ll be asking her. It’s a full moon tonight, the skies are clear, maybe a wolf in the distance will howl, I don’t know. All I know is I’ll be asking her and I’m positive I won’t be breathing while I wait for her answer.

Her hips slightly move from the left to the right, and I increase the intensity. Her head jerks back a little and the fact that no one is looking tells me she’s getting better at keeping it quiet.

God, I could watch this all night.

I need to find the bathroom and grab Allie. She probably wouldn’t want to do it in my car again. At least not for a while. Allie’s eye still twitches when she sees my car. It’s hardly noticeable, but at least she doesn’t scowl at the back seat like she’s seeing ghosts of us back there.

It’s not like it was a shameful thing. It was beautiful, and we made Jadon that night. She did great for her first time with me.

Just as I’m ready to take the first step back to her, someone knocks into my shoulder. I don’t normally care, but seeing as it was a hard knock—too hard to be accidental—I turn to get a look at the guy.

Ted looks over his shoulder at me with an icy stare with a hint of rage in his eyes.
