He was relentless, once again playing with her clit, chasing thoughts and regrets away under a cleansing wash of animal lust. The carnal act of creation was hers, with others to bear witness to its triumph over cold, remote Sister Bernadette.

“I was made for this.” The broken voice sounded so little like her.

His groin ground against her, waking new excitement. “Again.”

A pause. She could barely breathe. “I was made for this.”

He rocked against her, his lengths producing friction that opened her toes wide. She clawed the bed. “Again.”

“I was made for this.” Stronger. With belief as his massive body slapped against hers. As bolts of rapture fired deep inside. As he rode her harder and faster and watched her take it. “I was made for this.” The Nobeks crowded close, but didn’t touch her, only themselves. They whipped their fists over their cocks as they watched. “I was made for this.” Doljen grunting, rutting, fucking her. “I was made for this!”

The guard on her right shouted. Streams of heat fell over Bernadette’s belly. Doljen pounded against her, within her, his teeth clenched. “I was made for this!” she shrieked at them, and the other Nobek unleashed a ribbon of passion to join the first.

At the same instant, Doljen pinched her clit. Cataclysm erupted, but not before she felt his shafts throbbing, jerking. Filling her with his seed.

Her vision whited out, leaving her in a bright void of pulsating elation. From a great distance, she heard Doljen saying, “You were made for this. Made to fuck and come and enjoy all that being a woman means.”

She returned to herself by degrees. She opened her eyes to meet Doljen’s. On either side of him, the Nobeks grinned. They continued to stroke themselves, and Doljen was still inside her, still twitching. He grinned too, the smile of a victor.

What have I done? The shame was slight, however, in the wake of such bliss. Even the humiliation of the alien spunk that covered her couldn’t dislodge a strange sense of serenity.

“It appears you need another wash, Bernadette,” Doljen said. “I apologize for forgetting in the heat of the moment that you asked to suck my cocks in front of a large audience. What do you say we gather a crowd for the next round?”

She couldn’t. Yet when he pulled her to her feet and prodded her toward the shower, his hand cupping her pussy and the guards eagerly following and calling others to join them, she offered no resistance.

That and guilt would come later.

Chapter Twelve

Present day

Bernadette was in a pitched battle with her feelings after Tumsa commed and asked her to join him at his home the next morning. “I have news that should only be delivered in person. Fortunately, it’s a holiday here on Haven, so no school and no team practice. Can you come?”

Had his contacts found Doljen? Why couldn’t he tell her over the com? She tried to keep calm, but she’d chewed off two fingernails on the shuttle ride to his home.

She was less than pleased to discover Hal standing in front of Tumsa’s door as she landed, the shuttle he’d evidently hired taking off. At least he’d had better sense than to take the second of her two shuttlecraft from theRogue, particularly without asking. She’d have skinned him alive.

She had no chance to bark at him or vice versa. Tumsa was opening the door as she came within snarling distance of Hal. His expression said he was full of snarls that morning himself.

“Come in. I may have a lead on Doljen.” Tumsa ushered them in.

“May?” That hardly warranted an in-person meeting in her opinion, but his handsome features wore cautious excitement.

He gestured for them to take seats in his living room. “From anyone else, I wouldn’t get my hopes up, but Nobek Jol’s information is usually pretty solid. He used to be the head of Haven’s security, and he’s the clanmate of the former governor, who happened to owe me a favor.”

“Dramok Ospar?” Hal’s gaze narrowed. “He was involved in a scandal to do with the kidnappings that set off the Earth-Kalquor war.”

“Guilty or not, if you want information on someone, he and Jol are experts at digging it up.”

Bernadette was impatient to get past the history lesson. “What did these people tell you?”

“Doljen was last seen on Lobam. Jol says there’s no sign of him there at present, but there’s no record of him having left.”

“Lobam?” She’d made a number of supply runs to the Earthlike moon, one of five orbiting Kalquor.

Hal’s brow knitted with suspicion. “How can a person disappear on Lobam?”

“There’s a place called the Besyu District, where a very small population is located. Most of it’s unlivable desert, but there’s a border area of ocean and woodlands that are supposedly nice. From what Jol said, it’s the place to disappear if the residents will have you. Services are sparse, people there isolate themselves, and strangers aren’t exactly welcome.” Tumsa’s mouth curled in a hesitant smile. “Doljen briefly stayed in a city only an hour’s flight from Besyu. There, he bought a shuttle, along with a large supply of food and medicine. He vanished shortly afterward.”
