Blake sat Alizia down and let her run around and gave Tristan a cheeky look. “Maybe I should stuff trash downyourthroat.”

“May I hug your mate, or will you rip my throat out?” Tristan asked with a mischievous smirk on his face.

“Try and see what will happen,” Blake grinned back.

Tristan pulled Niev into a sideways hug and squeezed her before letting go and smiling down at her. “You’re glowing. Pregnancy suits you.”

She blushed and sat Darron on the floor who was eager to run after Alizia. “I think you and Blake are the only ones who would know. No one else here has seen me not pregnant yet.”

“Well, you should trust my judgment. You look great–pregnant or not.”

That earned him a low, dark growl from Blake. Tristan immediately stepped back and threw his hands into the air with a terrified look on his face. Blake wasn’t joking in that moment, his muscles tense and his warning serious.

“Blake!” Seth’s deep voice approached from behind. “I don’t believe Tristan was trying to take what is yours.”

“I swear I didn’t.” Tristan’s hands were still in the air.

Blake relaxed, shaking off the feeling. “Sorry, my wolf didn’t like that.”

Niev reached for him and let her hand soothingly stroke over his arm. “I’m fine.”

“She’s pregnant. That just makes your wolf extremely protective over her,” Seth explained, stepping to Niev’s other side, and smiling down on her.

Blake still seemed a little taken aback by his strong reaction. “Sorry, Tristan. I know you didn’t mean unwell or anything. My wolf just was too strong.”

Tristan seemed a little more composed now. “It’s all good. I’m sure if you ripped me into pieces, Niev would fix me back up.”

Niev giggled. “I would.”

“See? All good,” Tristan reassured.

Blake came even closer to her and wrapped his arm around her waist, leaning down to her. “Did I scare you?”

“No, you didn’t.”

She leaned into him, and they watched in silence as the sun slowly set and the moon rose higher in the sky. It was beautiful seeing everyone under Selene’s roof. It was peaceful and Niev could feel the air slowly vibrate as the excitement increased with each minute that passed.

When the last of the sunlight disappeared behind the trees, she saw Tanner get ready to address his pack. He stood by the massive tree roots and waited for everyone to assemble.

Blake leaned forward. “Would you like to step closer?”

“Not unless you need to.”

She was still a little anxious about the whole pack thing and didn’t want to force herself into the midst of them. He nodded and tightened his arms around her while she leaned her head against his chest.

“Do you feel Selene?”

“My wolf is itching under my skin wanting to come out.”

“Do you want me to scratch your ears,” she giggled quietly.

With a sweet rumble vibrating in his chest, he set his chin on her shoulder. “Yes, please.”

She reached up and started to gently pet him behind his ear like she did when he was in his wolf form.

Tanner started speaking with a deep loud voice. “Today, we’re not only celebrating Selene, but we’ll also be welcoming a new wolf into this world.”

A boy who looked to be about sixteen came forward. He undressed and turned his back to the crowd, facing his alpha. Tanner laid his hands on his shoulder and started speaking to him in a low voice that only the boy could hear.
