I can barely contain the revenge kink joy inside me. “Let me ask you, why do you trust me?”

“As you stated earlier, I’m not stupid. I did my research on you as well. I’m well aware of your assets and reputation. It’s partly why I started questioning Landon.”

“Well let me just say, nothing would please me more than watching Garrett Landon fail. It’s literally the reason I returned to save Neubrook. You have my word that I’ll do everything within my power to succeed.”

“I have no doubt. I’ll contact my bank today to make an offer and let Landon know there’s a change of plans. Be prepared.”

“I always am. Pleasure doing business with you, Mr. Richmond.”

As I walk out, it would take a hurricane to wipe the smile off my face.

Garrett Landon is going down.

ELI

I look up, dazed, as the front door opens and Michel enters the room, immediately changing the energy of the room. I watch him from a distance as he sets his keys down on the entry table and shrugs off his suit jacket, draping it over his bent arm and walking farther into the home.

His eyes seek me out, and when he finds me, his face lights up. “Hi.”

I smile back. “Hey, you. How was your meeting?”

Michel sits on the couch behind me where I sit on the floor, reaching down to gently massage my shoulders. “It was better than I imagined. Sean Richmond owns Oscala Technology.”

“Oh, shit. I have their phone.”

He smiles. “He was starting to have doubts about Garrett, so my timing was impeccable, thanks to you.” He bows his head slightly. “I was able to easily convince Mr. Richmond that he was on the verge of being played. His response was to offer to buy the building with a forty percent stake and naming rights.”

My eyes go wide. “Holy shit, Michel. Really?”

His smile grows. “It’s even more than I wanted. He’s going to buy the building outright and partner with me on renovations. We’ll name it The Oscala.”

“That is epic. Garrett is gonna shit, but how can Richmond buy the building? It’s not for sale yet, right?”

“Right, but without his money, Garrett will default and the bank will put it up. Richmond is going to offer the bank market price before Garrett even defaults.”

“Wow. Your plan is coming together.”

“Perfectly. What did you do today?”

“Got nearly everything confirmed for the party. I need to put some deposits down and have you sign things to make it official, but everyone I talked to was more than happy to book it based on your name and reputation. Pretty impressive.”

His eyes soften as he studies my face. “I can’t thank you enough. In between all the other duties I throw at Crystal, it usually takes her a couple of weeks to plan. You did it in a day.”

“Just trying to earn my keep.” I laugh, but Michel doesn’t.

“You have nothing to earn, Eli. Your presence here is more than enough.” He bends his head and presses a far too short kiss to my lips.

As he moves away, I chase him, crawling up his body until I’m practically straddling him. He holds me against him, allowing me to deepen the kiss. For a man who claims not to have any sexual experience, he sure the fuck knows how to kiss.

We rub our bodies together, clinging frantically and exploring each other’s mouths. Michel’s kiss is soul stirring. I swear I can feel it in every part of me, and as my cock thickens, a little moan escapes me.

Michel breaks the kiss sweetly, pressing his forehead to mine while rubbing my back. “If I could come home to that every night, I’d be a happy man.”

My stomach flutters with the implication of his words. We could do this every night. We couldbetogether.

“Too much?” he asks.
