“We just wanted you to know since it’s possible others will recall he was at your ball.”

“I appreciate it, Officers. Do you have any suggestions for me for future events?”

“Nah,” the second officer answers. “Your events are always safe. We did wonder how he got himself an invite though.”

Michel doesn’t miss a beat. “I ask my assistant to draw a random selection of residents. I was unaware of his troubled history. We’ll have to pay more attention in the future.”

“Fortunately, we don’t have too many problem people around town.” The officer glances over Michel’s shoulder at me. “But I’d avoid Landon and his friends.”

“You probably don’t need us to tell you that though,” the other officer says with a chuckle.

“No, we’re not exactly friends,” Michel says. “Speaking of, is security all set for the press conference tomorrow?”

“It is,” the officer answers. “Well, we’ll let you get back to your morning.”

“Thank you for the information.” Michel waves at the men as they slip into the elevator again.

Once they’re gone, Michel pulls me onto the couch. “They don’t even suspect you,” I note.

“Why would they? I’m a reputable businessman who was seen at all times by guests.”

“Who also haven’t caught on that there are several of you at each party.”

He chuckles. “Nope.”

“Clever.” I settle against him, curving my body around his. “Did I come last night?”

Michel laughs again. “Yes. We both did, but you were slipping away when it happened.”

“Some first time for you.”

“Eli, I couldn’t have planned it better. Yes, I panicked a bit, but it was epic. I can’t even explain what it felt like when you entered me. It was like every dream coming true all at once. And then I drank…” His words trail off as he shakes his head. “It was paradise. So fucking perfect I can’t put words to it.” He cups my cheek. “And now we can do it for eternity. Literally.”

“That sounds amazing.”

“I promise it will be.” He kisses me sweetly. “Now, I need to pull my head from the clouds and focus on the press conference tomorrow. Garrett will find out that it’s me who finally got his building, and all hell will likely break loose.”

“We can handle it. How did you get the building?”

“As I understand it, Sean Richmond told Garrett he was pulling out of the deal, and with no investor, Garrett was forced to accept the offer the bank gave him, which was really the offer Sean gave the bank.”

I nod. “Wild.”

“Yes. I arranged with Sean to pay the arrears on Garrett’s mortgage. It’s not his wife and family’s fault he’s a loser, so they’ll be fine.”

“That’s cool.”

Michel nods but his jaw tenses. “This is Garrett’s final scene. I plan to invite Ben, Nial, and Garrett to a ball as a show of friendship and no hard feelings. They’ll come, of course, out of curiosity more than anything else.”

“And then?”

Now he smiles, that glimmer he gets in his eyes when he speaks of revenge even brighter than usual. “And then my masterpiece. I’ll bring them to a secluded spot on the second floor, far away from the crowds, where I will torture them, drain them, then tear their bodies apart.”

A strange sensation flutters through me that feels a lot like desire. I sense my teeth throbbing as my cock swells in my jeans. “Why does it turn me on when you talk like that?”

“Because you are like me, my love. We are connected on a deeper level than any mere mortals. You want my happiness as desperately as I want yours.”

“Yes.” I crawl into his lap, attacking his mouth until we fall backward, our cocks grinding together through our clothes. “Tell me how you’re going to torture them.”
