“I’m good.”

He loses his grin and lowers his voice. “Trouble gonna follow you, brother?”

“I’m hoping not.”

He nods slowly and I hear from behind me, “The problem with running from trouble is it always finds you. Not even you, Manik, are fast enough to outrun it.”

Over my shoulder, Psycho is stood there, his crazy arse eyes pinning me in place. Even when he’s in a good mood, you’d never know it.

“It’s why I ride my bike.”

The corner of his mouth flinches and that’s the most of a smile I’ll get from him. I hold my fist out to his and he bumps it and tips his chin.

The prospect approaches me and hands me a key. “You’re in room two, top of the stairs and on your right.”

I jerk my chin and he fucks off. My days as a prospect were some of the best days of my life. I fucking loved it. Most hate the time spent proving themselves to the club, but I didn’t. I made sure to prove my worth to the patch in every way I could and why I was an asset, and I was fully patched within seven months.

I settle in at an empty table and notice the welcome home banner hung above the bar. Checking around, I check out the talent and a black-haired beauty catches my eye. Her body is as curvy as an hourglass, and her breasts, even from across the bar, appear like they’d fit perfectly in my hand. Her green eyes are framed by the darkest eyelashes, like she’s wearing makeup but not a scrap of it covers her face. Mayhem pulls out a chair and passes me another beer, not that I’ve finished my first.

“Chaos said the party was for Psycho’s sister, where’s she been?” I haven’t seen a female version of Psycho around yet.

“Prison. She’s just got done serving ten years.”

My brow arches but I don’t know why I’m surprised with Psycho’s bloodline. I wouldn’t be surprised if the whole family has violent issues and has spent time at her majesty’s pleasure.

“What did she do?”

“Put her ex-boyfriend and her ex-best friend in the hospital for weeks after finding them together in her bed. She hit the boyfriend so hard with a cricket bat, it splintered.”

“Shit.”

“Our Lexi doesn’t take any shit,” he pauses and examines me up and down. “She’d eat you for breakfast.”

“Whoa. Who the fuck said I’m looking to go there?”

I’ll be steering clear of any relation to Psycho. Getting my dick wet is not worth his wrath. I’d be more likely to have it cut off and I’m kind of attached to it.

I can’t lie, though, it’s turning me on to hear her violent passion when she’s hurt. You never truly know someone until you’ve seen how far they’ll go when pushed.

The fucker laughs and a beautiful brunette drops down onto his lap. “Logan’s getting tired, I’m going to head home soon,” she tells Mayhem, and he nods.

“This is Manik, he’s gonna be staying with us for a while. Brother, this is my old lady, Lizzie.”

I smile her way and drain the rest of my beer. “So what’s it like around here?”

“It’s a small town, we mostly keep to ourselves, and the locals leave us alone. I’m sure Chaos has given you the speech.”

“Yeah, I heard it loud and clear.”

His old lady kisses his cheek and stands, he’s quick to take her hand and smirks at me as he rises from his seat.

“Welcome to Eastford, brother, may you find no trouble… or it finds you.”

I raise my bottle of beer to him.

“Amen to that.”

The few kids that have been running around were taken home a while ago and most of the old ladies have gone with them. The real party has begun. Psycho left with his family, and I’ve found myself in the company of the black-haired beauty I caught sight of earlier. Her hair is as dark as the night sky on a starless night. Her skin as flawless as the crown jewels. And her plump lips, have me imagining them wrapped around my dick. The second she sat down beside me, I saw no ring and no claim on her. From the women I’ve seen around so far, she’s by far the hottest piece of arse here.
