“She’s un-fucking-believable,” Nico complains, walking down the hallway to find Mia.

Felicity always knows how to cause havoc everywhere she goes. If there’s something she doesn’t like, she’ll always speak up. No matter where she is or who is around.

“I should send her to stay in Italy with my mom’s family,” Nico growls.

His words make my heart stop. Sending Felicity to Italy is not an option. One, she’ll never go. Two, I’ll never let her go. Nico may be the boss but the only way Felicity will go to Italy is with me or over my dead body.

“She’ll calm down, Boss,” I assure him. “She’s just a bit upset since she’s not allowed to leave the compound.”

“She can come and go as she pleases,” he snaps.

“She’s just not used to taking an entourage with her, Boss.”

“She better get used to it or I swear, I’m shipping her ass off!”

There’s no use talking to him, when he’s in this mood. Both he and Felicity are hard-headed. It’s like talking to a wall. A six-inch, titanium wall.

“Want me to have one of the guys pick up Mia’s favorite dessert or something, Boss?” I offer as a peace treaty.

“She’s pretty pissed. Have one of the guys grab her favorite dessert and a new handbag or something. Have Felicity go with them to pick it out.”

He’s got to be kidding, I groan. Felicity literally wants to beat his ass right now and he wants to make her go buy Mia a present? He clearly isn’t thinking straight.

Gregg glances at me. He’s probably thinking the same thing as me. I shrug and Gregg rolls his eyes.

“Boss, you think that’s a good idea?” Gregg asks. “Felicity isn’t in the best mood right now.”

I give Gregg a thumbs up and he rolls his eyes.

“She’ll do as she’s told,” Nico replies harshly.

It’s days like this where being his right-hand man and Felicity’s… Well, I’m not sure what the hell we are, but it’s still hard being in the middle. I’m loyal to Nico and Felicity. I’ve known them most of my life and would give my life for them both.

“Do as I’m told?” Felicity asks from behind us, stopping us all in our tracks. We turn and face her. Gregg and I step to the sides so Nico can see her.

Felicity’s ability to walk down the marble hallways with heels on and not make a sound always impresses me. She’s a natural at sneaking up on people. It drives the other guys crazy because she can come and go without a sound, making their job twice as hard.

“Felicity, is it really so hard to just follow my orders? It’s for your own good,” Nico says, crossing his arms in front of his chest.

“If you want to give orders to something, I’ll get you a dog,” she smirks. “How does that sound?”

“Felicity, stop making things difficult for everyone. Just for once in your fucking life, do as you’re told and keep your fu–”

She rushes over to him and before he can finish his words, slaps the hell out of him. She’s his sister so there’s nothing Gregg, Vinnie, or I can do without orders. Honestly, he had it coming. He’s been a moody bastard ever since his dad died and he learned that Mia was pregnant with twins. We have all been catching his wrath.

“Some days, I absolutely despise you, Nico Santoro. And today is definitely one of those days,” she whispers. Her eyes are filled with tears.

She rarely cries. The only times I’ve seen her cry is out of rage and she can’t do anything or when she is truly in pain. Nico keeping her under lock and key has finally broken her.

“Felicity, you don’t mean that,” he sighs and rubs the back of his neck. “We can discuss all of this later in private with no one around.”

“No. There’s nothing left to discuss, Nico.” She shakes her head. “I’m done.”

She walks past us. We look back at her and she’s holding both middle fingers in the air, heading down the hallway. Typical Felicity exit.

That’s my girl.
