Oh.

“And—who is this?” He pointed to Iris. “And how do you two know her?”

“She’s our sister,” Fraser said. Then he looked at the big guy. “And you are?”

“He plays for the Vienna Vikings,” Iris said, looking not super pleased at Fraser. “And he was Tate’s contact.”

A beat.

“Tate?” Ned said. “Tate, our cousin Tate?”

“The very one. Who got stabbed last night on the Charles Bridge meeting Hudson here with this information, so it better be important.”

Ned just blinked at her.

“Is he okay?” Fraser asked, catching up to the important part.

“Yes,” Roy said. “Ziggy texted this morning.”

“She got to him in time and took him into the hospital. Or wherever you spooks go to for medical help.”

“I'm not a spook,” said Ned.

“Me either,” Fraser said. “Are you?”

Iris’s eyes widened. “No. I’m…” Then she sighed. “Maybe I was sort of involved in something clandestine, but I’m not…this was clearly a huge mistake.”

“No doubt,” Hudson said. “Sheesh, Iris, how many people in your family are going to get blood on me?”

He wiped a trickle of blood from his nose.

Fraser’s mouth tightened around the edges.

“Just the two,” she said, but looked at Ned.

He held up his hands.

“This family,” Roy said, and shook his head. “Okay, we got the jump drive, let’s get going.”

“I want to know what’s on it. Why did Tate nearly die for this information?”

Roy looked at her. “That’s not your role. You don’t get to know—”

“Shae’s been kidnapped.”

Roy looked at him, something lethal in his eyes.

“She’s her sister-in-law! Or going to be. And—”

“What do you mean, kidnapped?”

“Two weeks ago, from Geneva. She was taken outside Ned’s hotel,” Fraser said. “We tracked her down to a guy in Finland who turned up dead. But she called Ned on the happenchance and told him she was in Russia.”

“And Roy activated his contacts to see if he could get any information from Russia. Actually—RJ’s husband. Did you know she was married?”

“Of course. We text sometimes. York. He’s a good guy. She met him on a trip, I think. They eloped.”

Roy made a sound, deep in his chest. “Okay, we need a computer.”
