Hunter is now propped up against a pillow with his hands behind his head showing off his impressive chest and chiseled abs.

“No. I had Lasik ten years ago.”

He tosses his legs over the side of the bed to pull on his briefs.

I take a big bite of pancake. It’s cooler now, but still incredibly delicious.

“Hmm.”

I can never tell Griffin that The Plaza Hotel’s pancakes are better than the ones we make, it feels disloyal to even think it, but I’m still going to eat every bite.

Hunter walks over to the table, a robe and slippers in his hand.

I gasp at the sight of the prominent Plaza Hotel emblem embroidered on them.

“I figured you’d want the full experience.”

“Yes, please!”

He holds the robe out for me and I slip my arms through the plush terry velour. He sets the slippers on the carpet so I can slide my feet inside. It’s heaven.

“I’m trying to decide which is more relaxing. The orgasm you just gave me or this robe,” I tease.

Hunter smirks as he pulls a matching robe on and joins me at the table.

“Is there a reason you’re concerned about my vision?” he asks after swallowing a bite of his pancake.

“Oh, you said I was beautiful, then I nearly scared myself looking in the mirror, so I was concerned for you. Lasik isn’t permanent, right? You might need a touch up?”

Hunter chuckles, then gazes at me tenderly. “I had my eyes checked a few months ago. I’ve got perfect vision.”

That’s the thing I’m realizing about Hunter. He’s not going to justify calling me beautiful. He said it and he stands by it even when I try to shake some sense into him. It’s annoying really.

Or maybe that’s his way of telling me I don’t need to work to impress him. This isn’t that kind of relationship.

I remember friends telling me about early stages of their relationships where they’d tiptoe out of bed to brush their hair and apply lip balm before pretending to wake up looking like a perfectly angelic creature. No, I’m a groggy mess in an oversized sweatshirt and Hunter doesn’t care.

So, I stuff my face with the remainder of my pancake, then eat half of Hunter’s pancake. We take a shower and have sex again. This time I’m more awake and when Hunter moves me into the reverse cowgirl position so he can play with my ass I come so hard I nearly fold his dick in half.

Really, it’s the perfect morning.

CHAPTER21

Hunter

It’s mid-afternoon by the time I convince Sophie to shower and get dressed. The late check-out I asked for was necessary.

“Coney Island?” she asks. “I could really go for a corndog.”

She’s been trying to guess where we’re going since we hit the Queens Midtown Tunnel.

“Are you still hungry?” She ate nearly both of our pancakes, then a plate of fries and a chocolate milkshake before we left the hotel.

“Hey,” her tone is mockingly defensive, “if we’re going to be having this much sex, you have to feed me.”

Her eyes go wide when she realizes her outburst in front of my driver, Stefan. All I can do is chuckle at the mortified look on her face.

“You can have anything you want,” I whisper in her ear while letting my palm settle over her spandex short-clad thigh. In order to make last night a surprise, Jeannie purchased some items for Sophie. I’ve gotten to know her style over the last few weeks and recommended biker shorts and an oversized t-shirt with sneakers. At first, Sophie was annoyed I bought her new shoes, but when it came down to it, she was happy to not put her heels back on.
