And then, there's Anthony.

What would it do to him if he found out how I died?

The man I love more than anything, the son of a Mafia Don, and the computer genius who tried to protect me from all this chaos – he doesn't deserve any of this.

"Please," I beg, desperation creeping into my voice as I reach a dead end.

I turn, and see him coming towards me.

"You don't understand what Atwell might do to me if you take me there."

"Your husband got himself into this mess," Miller snaps, his voice growing louder and angrier with each step we take.

"He knew the consequences. Now, both of you will face them."

"Anthony isn't like his father," I insist, trying to reason with him.

But my words fall on deaf ears as he continues his relentless pursuit.

"Our nuptials weren't even completed. He's not my husband. I mean nothing to him."

"Save it for the warehouse," he sneers, and I know that he doesn't care about anything I have to say.

All he sees is a target, a means to an end.

I refuse to let him win.

I see a small opening in the middle of the boundary wall to the forest.

My legs burn and my lungs scream for air, but I push myself harder, faster.

Every step I take feels like a small victory against the darkness that threatens to consume me.

"Stop running!" Miller roars one last time, his voice echoing through the trees.

But I don't listen.

I can't.

The only thing that matters now is survival, and I won't stop until I find it.

And so, I run.

But he catches up. I'm too slow right now.

My heart races as I feel Miller's grip on my arm, unyielding and forceful, dragging me towards the abandoned warehouse.

I claw at his hand, trying to break free, but he only tightens his grip, causing pain to shoot up my arm.

The cold air cuts through my thin clothes, sending shivers down my spine as we approach the looming structure.

"Let me go!" I scream, pulling against him with every ounce of strength I have left.

But it's no use; he's too strong, and I'm exhausted from our chase.

"Save your breath," he growls, pushing me through the rotting doors of the warehouse.

The darkness inside wraps around me like a suffocating blanket, my eyes struggling to adjust to the dim light filtering through broken windows.
