“Because I gave up on love. I gave up on being happy!” Her lips were red and swollen, her eye makeup smeared.

“You’ve fucked with everyone’s lives here, and now you’re just going to run away? Disappear? What does that solve?” I shoved my hands in my pockets to keep myself from wiping away her tears.

“It solves nothing, but at least now I can travel and do what I want to. I don’t have to be controlled and told what to do anymore. I’ll be slandered no matter if I stay here or not. I might as well make the best of it!” She rolled her eyes and turned her back, crossing her arms.

“I don’t want to control you, Lyss. I wouldn’t. Ever. I’ll be a free bird flying right beside you. We can have fun together, explore and experience things. And I would always make sure you were safe.” I wanted to reach for her so badly that my fingers burned. I wanted to feel her body on mine. More than anything, I wanted her to give in to the love we both knew was here, between us.

She stopped her pacing and turned to look at me. “I want to do this. With you, Judas. I just hope you understand that your relationship with your father could be destroyed.” I laughed, incredulous. Did she really think I wouldn’t leave my father behind in the dust? If he refused to change, then why should I?

She really must not know me that well. “It still makes me laugh that you care so much about what other people think. Because I don’t. And no matter what, if you run away from here; with or without me- you won’t be back. You and I both know that.” She shook her head this time, and tears followed. But she stayed silent.

“This is more than attraction. I’ve been knocked on my ass and fallen in love with you. I’m yours, Lyss.” My brain needed a break. I needed to quiet the noise. “That’s why all this happened! As fucked up as it is! It’s what brought us to one another!”

“I want to believe that, too.” She breathed, her blue eyes wet and bloodshot.

“I’m going to the bar, and when you’ve stopped acting like a brat, come find me. If not, I’m moving back to Sacramento. Tonight.”

“Stop. Please don’t leave. You’re right, I’m acting like a brat.” She looked at me from under her lashes. She knew it made me weak when she did it. Black and blue. Hearing her say the word brat made my balls squeeze. The way she was acting made me want to bend her over my knee and redden her ass right there.

She stepped up close to me and took both of my hands in hers. “Let’s be free, together.” My stomach clenched, and the thought of being able to touch her whenever I wanted, drove me crazy. Crazy happy.

I smiled down at her. “Can we leave tonight?” I bent my legs and gripped her ass, lifting her up to my lips. Her smell wrapped around me. A coconut beach with a little sting of chardonnay. Her lips pressed to mine. We tasted each other and cemented our bodies together.

When she broke out kiss, she smiled and said, “Yes, tonight on the Ducati.” She playfully bit my lip and I bounced her up higher on my body, giving her ass a hard spank.

“If anyone fucks with you, I’ll kill them. If you want to fuck anyone, I get to watch.” I kissed her playfully.

“I can agree with that. Same for goes for you.” She stroked the spot on my chest where my tattoo of Zeus was. Her inner child subconsciously thanking me for making her feel safe. Even though she was a wild, sexual creature.

“Why do you think we had to go through all of this, just to find each other?” I leaned down, wrapping her in my arms. My tall frame swallowed hers, and we both looked out into the rolling ocean. A wild temptress that refused to be tamed, just like us. Only the moon could sway her moods.

“Because fate has a twisted way of making a point.” She whispered. She hopped down, walking around me. I bent my knees so she could get on my back, and she hopped on with a loud giggle.

I walked up the incline of the beach to the sparkling red Ducati and the prospect of living a better life.

A freer life.
