“Kaisin—”

“Kordin wouldn’t tell Kaisin if he had cancer, let alone mistresses. Besides the obligatory Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter dinners their mother insists we all attend every year, the Debrosse brothers do not interact with each other whatsoever once they leave this building. If it weren’t for nepotism, Kaisin would never have been able to land himself the title of CFO at a multimillion-dollar company because, quite frankly, he’s a moron.”

“He wants you.”

“Beginning when I was sixteen, the sole purpose of my entire existence has been to attract any person I encounter with a taste for pussy.”

Sixteen? She was working at The Playground when she was sixteen years old? That’s too damn young. Even my sisters at seventeen are too young.

“And Kaisin Debrosse? Despite being terrible at it, he definitely has a taste for pussy.”

“Terrible at what? Eating pussy?”

She gives me a flat look.

“How the fuck do you know he’s terrible at it?”

“Have you looked at Kaisin? Really looked at him? The piss stains on every pair of pants he owns because he’s too lazy to shake correctly? Do you think he knows, or cares, how to treat a clit?”

That’s true. He probably doesn’t even know where it is.

“It’s more than attraction,” I voice the thoughts I’ve had since I laid eyes on the motherfucker.

Her lips purse and now I’m the one cocking an eyebrow. I’m not as stupid as she tries to make me out to be. I catch a hell of a lot more than I throw back. Except when it comes to her. Lex is a complete mystery to me.

“Kaisin is in love with you. Has been ever since he saw you at The Playground.”

She frowns, her Blue Milkweed gaze falling to her desk as she whispers, “That’s…interesting.”

“You didn’t know?”

As if remembering I’m still here, she shakes her head. “You picked that up in one day?”

She didn’t answer my question.

“Uh-huh. It could work in your favor. If you’re trying to get the company in the divorce…” She doesn’t correct me, so I keep going. “…it’d be good to have him on your side.”

“I’ll work on him,” is all she says.

“I’llwork on him,” I tell her with more growl than words.

“No offense…”

I shrug, already preparing for her next words to be offensive as fuck.

“…but you lack the proper skills. Like I said, I’ve been at this for a decade.”

“I thought you weren’t in the business of pleasing men anymore.”

“Pleasing men? No. But I’ll never stop hustling them. You’re just tooeasy,” she half-moans, sending an electric current to my cock.

“No offense…” I start.

Dropping the act, she scoffs.

“…but you lack subtlety. Kaisin needs subtle or he might crack too soon.”

“Soon works.”
